''Burning Birds'' (දැවෙන විහඟුන්) is a 2018 Sri Lankan adult drama film written and directed by Sanjeewa Pushpakumara and co-produced by Pushpakumara and Antonin Dedet. It stars Anoma Janadari and Samanalee Fonseka with Mahendra Perera and Shyam Fernando. The music was composed by R. Abaji and Philip David Sheppard. The film was premiered in the main competition of the 21st Busan International Film Festival in 2016. The film was released in Sri Lanka on 29 June 2018 by the National Film Corporation of Sri Lanka through its Rithma circuit cinemas. The director's cut was released from 26 July 2018 to 9 August 2018 only in three threaters - Regal Colombo, Lido Borella and Skylite Malabe, under the "Adults Only" banner. The film successfully passed 50 days in theaters. It is the 1307th Sri Lankan film in the Sinhala cinema. Sanjeewa Pushpakumara
Sanjeewa Pushpakumara (born 5 May 1977) is a Sri Lankan film director, screenwriter and producer. Career Pushpakumara completed a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura in 2005. He pursued a diploma in filmmaking at the Sri Lanka National Film Corporation in 2006. In 2007, Pushpakumara received a scholarship from the Korean Culture and Tourism Ministry under its Cultural Partnership Initiative (CPI), to study filmmaking in the Asian Young Film Forum and also to learn Korean at Jeonbuk National University. In 2008, he obtained a Master's degree in Mass Communications from the University of Kelaniya. In 2009, Pushpakumara was selected to the Asian Film Academy of Busan International Film Festival. He participated in Berlinale Talent Campus in 2012. Eththiligoda Vidana Gamage Pubudu Chathuranga, (born 12 November 1982: si, පුබුදු චතුරංග), popularly as Pubudu Chathuranga, is an actor in Sri Lankan cinema, theater and television. He is also worked as a model, TV presenter and a screenplay writer. Personal life Pubudu was born on 12 November 1982 in Kithulampitiya, Galle. The International Film Festival and Forum on Human Rights (FIFDH) is one of the most important international events dedicated to cinema and human rights, located in the heart of Geneva, "international capital of human rights". Leonie Ayuntha Weerasinghe ( si, ලියෝනි කොතලාවල; 18 September 1944 – 19 June 2022), popularly as Leonie Kotelawala, was an actress in Sri Lankan cinema, theatre and television. In a career spanned more than seven decades, Kotelawala is best known for becoming the first Sri Lankan stage actress to win the 1962 Best Actress Award for her performance in the play ''Mehew Lokaya''.
