David Russell Sutton
David Russell Sutton (November 2, 1895 – February 13, 1970) was a Canadian politician. He represented the Electoral district (Canada), electoral district of Kings (provincial electoral district), Kings in the Nova Scotia House of Assembly from 1945 to 1953. He was a member of the Nova Scotia Liberal Party. Born in 1895 at Somerville, Massachusetts, Sutton's family moved to Canada in 1896. He was educated at the Nova Scotia Agricultural College, and was a farmer and fruit grower in Kings County, Nova Scotia. He married Lulu Marguerite Morine in 1919. Sutton was a municipal councillor in Kings County, and served as president of the Nova Scotia Fruit Growers Association. Sutton entered provincial politics in the 1945 Nova Scotia general election, 1945 election, winning the Kings County riding. David Christopher Sutton (born 18 October 1950) is a British archival researcher, cataloguer, indexer, librarian, literary scholar, copyright researcher, food historian, fairtrade campaigner, bus company director, urban regeneration specialist and local politician. Career Trained as a librarian/archivist in Dublin and Sheffield, he has been a member of staff at the University of Reading Library since 1982. A party member in the Labour Party since the 1960s, he was leader of Reading Borough Council for 13 years, from May 1995 to May 2008. Then from 2010, he became chair of the board of Reading Buses, the local municipally-owned bus company, and also chair of the Reading Fairtrade Group. For his archival research and literary editorial work on the Location Register of English Literary Manuscripts and Letters he was nominated for the McColvin Medal in 1992 and highly commended for the Besterman Medal in 1998. Dave Sutton (footballer, Born 1957)
David William Sutton (born 21 January 1957) is an English former professional footballer who played in the Football League for Plymouth Argyle, Reading, Huddersfield Town, Bolton Wanderers and Rochdale. He later became a manager. Despite being born in Tarleton near Preston in Lancashire Sutton began as an apprentice with Plymouth Argyle. He made 61 appearances at centre half plus 9 on loan at Reading before a transfer to Huddersfield Town under Mick Buxton in 1978. This was a highly successful move as Sutton moved up with them from the Fourth Division to the top half of the Second in the early 1980s. Mick Buxton later listed him as one of his best ever signings. After six years and 242 appearances he moved to then Third Division Bolton Wanderers where he made 98 appearances over four seasons experiencing relegation in 86-87 then promotion through the play-offs in 87/88. Sid Owen (born David Sutton; 12 January 1972) is an English actor, television presenter and former singer, who played Ricky Butcher in the BBC One soap opera ''EastEnders'' on and off since 1988. David Deion Sutton (born May 30, 1984) is a former Arena football wide receiver. He was signed by the Miami Dolphins as an undrafted free agent in 2007. He played College football at Texas-El Paso. Early years Sutton played football his senior year at Long Beach Polytechnic High School, though he did not get much playing time. However, he was a two-year letterman in track and field, competing in the high jump and long jump.
