Dave Snuggerud
David Wilmer Snuggerud (born June 20, 1966) is an American former professional ice hockey right wing who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) between 1989 and 1993. He was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in the 1987 NHL Supplemental Draft out of the University of Minnesota. Internationally Snuggerud played for the American national team at the 1988 Winter Olympics and the 1989 World Championships. Playing career After playing three seasons for the Golden Gophers and one for the U.S. National Team, Snuggerud joined the Sabres for the 1989–90 season. After two-plus seasons with the Sabres, he was traded to the San Jose Sharks during the 1991–92 season in exchange for Wayne Presley. Snuggerud finished his NHL career with the Philadelphia Flyers in the 1992–93 season. After one year playing with the IHL's Minnesota Moose, Snuggerud retired. Winger (ice Hockey)
Winger, in the game of ice hockey, is a forward position of a player whose primary zone of play is along the outer playing areas. They typically flank the centre forward. Originally the name was given to forward players who went up and down the sides of the rink. Wingers generally have the least defensive responsibilities out of any position on the ice, however they are still tasked with defensive duties such as forechecking duties or covering the point in the defensive zone. 1992–93 NHL Season
The 1992–93 NHL season was the 76th regular season of the National Hockey League. Each player wore a patch on their jersey throughout the season to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Stanley Cup. The league expanded to 24 teams with the addition of the Ottawa Senators and the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Montreal Canadiens won their league-leading 24th Cup by defeating the Los Angeles Kings four games to one. This remains the last time that a Canadian team has won the Stanley Cup. It proved, at the time, to be the highest-scoring regular season in NHL history, as a total of 7,311 goals were scored over 1,008 games for an average of 7.25 per game. Goal (ice Hockey)
In ice hockey, a goal is scored when the puck entirely crosses the goal line between the two goal posts and below the goal crossbar. A goal awards one point to the team attacking the goal scored upon, regardless of which team the player who actually deflected the puck into the goal belongs to (see also own goal). Typically, a player on the team attempting to score shoots the puck with their stick towards the goal net opening, and a player on the opposing team called a goaltender tries to block the shot to prevent a goal from being scored against their team. 2022 NHL Entry Draft
The 2022 NHL Entry Draft was the 60th NHL Entry Draft. The draft was held on July 7–8, 2022, at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec. Montreal were originally scheduled to host the 2020 draft but were unable to do so due to the COVID-19 pandemic. For the first time since 1985, the team hosting the draft selected first overall. The first three selections were Juraj Slafkovsky going to the hosting Montreal Canadiens, Simon Nemec being selected by the New Jersey Devils, and Logan Cooley being picked by the Arizona Coyotes. Jimmy Snuggerud (born June 1, 2004) is an American collegiate ice hockey right wing for the University of Minnesota of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). He was drafted 23rd overall by the St. Louis Blues in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. Playing career Snuggerud spent two seasons with the USA Hockey National Team Development Program. During the 2021–22 season, he recorded 24 goals and 39 assists in 59 games. Snuggerud competed at the 2022 BioSteel All-American Game. Luc Snuggerud (born January 2, 1995) is an American former ice hockey defenseman. He was an All-American for Omaha. Playing career Snuggerud was a star defenseman for Eden Prairie High School, receiving the Reed Larson award as the top defenseman in the state and leading the Eagles to the state tournament. After graduating, Snuggerud was selected by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 5th round of the NHL draft and then began preparing for his freshman season at Omaha. Snuggerud fir in well with the Mavericks, helping the team reach the NCAA Tournament, win its first two postseason games and appear in its first ever Frozen Four. Chaska High School
Chaska Senior High School (CHS) is a public high school located in Chaska, Minnesota, United States, a southwestern suburb of the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. CHS is a 912 grade school that is attended by more than 1,500 students. The school mascot is the "Hawk," with the school colors being purple and gold.
