Dave Schmidt (politician)
Dave Schmidt was a Washington state politician. He was first elected to the House of Representatives in 1994 and served there until his election to the Senate in 2002. He lost the 2006 Senate election to Steve Hobbs. He was the Republican nominee for his old Senate seat in 2010 but lost again to Steve Hobbs in the general election. In 2012, he paid a $10,000 fine to settle allegations that he misspent funds from his unsuccessful 2006 reelection campaign. Washington's 44th Legislative District
Washington's 44th legislative district is one of forty-nine districts in Washington state for representation in the state legislature. The district covers a large area mostly east of Everett, including the cities of Maltby, Mill Creek and Snohomish. The district's legislators include state senator John Lovick and two state representatives, Brandy Donaghy (position 1) and April Berg (position 2), all of whom are members of the Democratic Party. This seat was once held by future U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell, from January 12, 1987, to January 3, 1993. Steve Hobbs (Washington Politician)
Steven Ryuma Hobbs (born February 12, 1970) is an American military officer and politician serving as the 16th Secretary of State of Washington since 2021. A member of the Democratic Party, he previously served as a member of the Washington State Senate, representing the 44th district from 2007 to 2021. In 2021, Governor Jay Inslee named Hobbs to succeed the departing Kim Wyman as Secretary of State of Washington; he is the first Democrat in the state to serve in the position since Victor Aloysius Meyers left it in 1965. Hans M. Dunshee (born October 26, 1953) is an American businessman and politician of the Democratic Party. He is a former member of the Washington House of Representatives, representing the 44th Legislative District. Dunshee was born in Los Angeles, California. Newberg, Oregon
Newberg is a city in Yamhill County, Oregon, United States. Located in the Portland metropolitan area, the city is home to George Fox University. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 25,138 making it the second most populous city in the county. History Ewing Young, after leading pioneering fur brigades in California, came to Portland in 1834 and settled on the west bank of the Willamette River near the mouth of Chehalem Creek, opposite of Champoeg. Young's home is believed to be the first house built by European-Americans on that side of the river. Later, Joseph Rogers settled near the Willamette River at what is now Newberg in 1848.
