Dave Mooney
David Mooney (born 30 October 1984) is an Irish footballer who has played for several clubs in Ireland and the United Kingdom. As of 2019, he was playing as a striker for Leinster Senior League side Lucan United. Club career Shamrock Rovers Mooney joined Shamrock Rovers, his first senior club, in 2000, while he was a pupil in Coláiste Éanna, in Dublin. He scored in every round when Rovers' won the U17 All Ireland title against Kingdom Boys in 2002. Mooney made his first team debut coming on as a sub against Longford Town on 6 April 2004. His first goal came on 24 June 2004 against Dublin City. In his fifteen months in the first team, he scored nine goals in 40 total appearances. Due to Rovers' financial position at the time players had to be sold on and Mooney moved to Longford. His last game with Rovers was against Cork City on 22 July 2005. Coláiste Éanna Christian Brothers School is a Roman Catholic secondary school for boys in Ballyroan, Dublin, Ireland. It was founded in 1967 by the Congregation of Christian Brothers to serve the needs of the Ballyroan and adjacent parishes. Strokestown Road, currently known as Bishopsgate for sponsorship purposes, is the name of a football stadium in Longford, Ireland which is the home of League of Ireland club Longford Town. History In the mid-1990s, Longford Town moved their home ground from Abbeycartron to the townland of Mullolagher just off the N5 road between Longford and Tarmonbarry. It is one of the few League of Ireland grounds which is owned by the club itself. The stadium underwent a huge redevelopment at the end of 2000–01 season. The League of Ireland ( ga, Sraith na hÉireann), together with the Football Association of Ireland, is one of the two main governing bodies responsible for organising association football in the Republic of Ireland. PFAI
The Professional Footballers' Association of Ireland (PFAI) is the representative body for professional and semi-professional footballers in Republic of Ireland. Players from all nationalities in the League of Ireland are represented, not just Irish players. It is a member of FIFPro; the international body for similar organisations, and the Irish Congress of Trade Unions. The PFAI's current chairman is Brendan Clarke. The highest profile activities of the PFAI is the annual Players' Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year awards. These winners of these awards are voted for by member players and members cannot vote for one of their clubmates. Paul McGrath is currently the only man to win the award in Ireland and also win the PFA Players' Player of the Year award in England.
