Dave Hood, Jr.
Charles David Hood Jr. (April 24, 1954 – March 15, 2019) was a Republican politician who served as a judge on the Seventh Judicial Circuit of Florida. Prior to his appointment to the Circuit in 2014, he served in the Florida House of Representatives, representing the 25th District, which included eastern Volusia County, including Ormond Beach, Daytona Beach Shores, Port Orange, Ponce Inlet, and New Smyrna Beach, from 2012 to 2014. History Hood moved to Florida in 1978 and began work as an attorney, and he became a partner in the law firm of Smith, Hood, Stout, Bigman & Brock, P.A. From 1992 to 1994, he served as an Ormond Beach City Commissioner, and from 1994 to 1999, as the Mayor of Ormond Beach, though he lived in Daytona Beach Shores. He died from brain cancer in 2019. Larry Metz
Larry Edward Metz (born March 20, 1955) is an American judge and former politician from Florida. He has served on the Fifth Judicial Circuit Court since June 30, 2018. Previously, he was a Republican member of the Florida House of Representatives from 2012 until his appointment as judge. History Metz was born in Abington, Pennsylvania, and moved to the state of Florida in 1968. He then attended the University of Florida, where he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in 1976. After graduation, Metz took graduate-level courses in public administration at San Diego State University, but did not graduate, instead attending the Florida State University College of Law, where he received a Juris Doctor in 1983. Richard Lynn Scott ( Myers, born December 1, 1952) is an American politician serving as the junior United States senator from Florida since 2019. A member of the Republican Party, he was the 45th governor of Florida from 2011 to 2019. Scott is a graduate of the University of Missouri–Kansas City and the Dedman School of Law at Southern Methodist University. In 1987, after serving in the United States Navy and becoming a law firm partner, he co-founded Columbia Hospital Corporation.
