Dave Herman (American Football)
David Jon Herman (September 3, 1941 – October 19, 2022) was an American professional American football, football player who played offensive Guard (American football), guard for ten seasons in the American Football League (AFL) and National Football League (NFL). He played for the New York Jets from 1964 to 1973, having earlier played college football for Michigan State University. Early life Herman was born in Bryan, Ohio, on September 3, 1941. He was raised on a chicken farm in nearby Edon, Ohio, where he attended Edon High School. He then studied at Michigan State University, where he played football for the Michigan State Spartans football, Spartans. He was selected by the New York Giants in the eighth round (110th overall) of the 1963 NFL Draft, but did not sign. Joe Namath
Joseph William Namath (; ; born May 31, 1943) is a former American football quarterback who played in the American Football League (AFL) and National Football League (NFL) for 13 seasons, primarily with the New York Jets. He played college football at Alabama, where he won the national championship as a senior, and was selected by the Jets first overall in the 1965 AFL Draft. Robert Guy Talamini (January 8, 1939 – May 30, 2022) was an American football player. Talamini, a 6'1", 250 lb lineman, earned third-team All-SEC honors at the University of Kentucky and was drafted by the Houston Oilers of the American Football League (AFL). Bubba Smith
Charles Aaron Smith (February 28, 1945 – August 3, 2011), commonly known as Bubba Smith, was an American football defensive end and actor. He first came into prominence at Michigan State University, where he twice earned All-American honors on the Spartans football team. Weeb Ewbank
Wilbur Charles "Weeb" Ewbank (May 6, 1907 – November 17, 1998) was an American professional football coach. He led the Baltimore Colts to consecutive NFL championships in 1958 and 1959 and the New York Jets to victory in Super Bowl III in January 1969. He is the only coach to win a championship in both the National Football League (NFL) and American Football League (AFL). Raised in Indiana, Ewbank attended Miami University in Ohio, where he was a multi-sport star who led his baseball, basketball, and football teams to state championships. Randall Lee Rasmussen (born May 10, 1945) is a former American football guard. He played 15 seasons with the New York Jets. He played for the Jets in the 1968 AFL Championship Game victory over the AFL's Oakland Raiders, and started in the third AFL–NFL World Championship Game (Super Bowl III), in which the Jets defeated the NFL's Baltimore Colts. He was the last of the starting Jets players in the game to retire, playing his final game in the 1981 playoffs against the Buffalo Bills. Rasmussen is one of five professional football players in professional football history who attended the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Winston Cordell Hill (October 23, 1941 – April 26, 2016) was an American professional football player who was an offensive tackle in the American Football League (AFL) and National Football League (NFL), primarily with the New York Jets.
