Dave Duff
David E. Duff (15 June 1901 – 31 December 1977) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Although he spent just one season at Melbourne, Duff was a member of a premiership team. He kicked a season best seven goals against Hawthorn at Glenferrie Oval in round 18 and continued his form in the finals with three goals in both the semi final and preliminary final wins. In the 1926 VFL Grand Final he was Melbourne's full-forward and managed two goals. Duff then became a prolific goal-kicker for Ballarat and in 1927, his first year, set a Ballarat Football League record tally of 113 goals. Bill Wells (footballer)
William George Wells (also known as Bomber Wells, 8 November 1920 – 16 March 2013) was an Australian rules footballer who played with North Melbourne and St Kilda in the Victorian Football League (VFL). He was injured during the war and told he was expected to spend the remainder of his life in a wheelchair, but made a successful comeback. After leaving the VFL he played for various clubs, including three stints with Williamstown in the Victorian Football Association (VFA). He also coached in the Wimmera Football League and Ballarat Football League. North Melbourne Wells, who was born in Brunswick, came to North Melbourne from East Coburg. He started the 1939 season strongly in the league seconds and was called up to make his senior debut in round five after kicking 11 goals from two games. ''The Argus'' was an Australian daily morning newspaper in Melbourne from 2 June 1846 to 19 January 1957, and was considered to be the general Australian newspaper of record for this period. Widely known as a conservative newspaper for most of its history, it adopted a Left-wing politics, left-leaning approach from 1949. The Redan Football Netball Club (nicknamed the ''Lions'') is an Australian rules football and netball club located in the city of Ballarat, Victoria. The football team currently competes in the Ballarat Football League. Redan has a history of 59 Premierships including 11 Senior Football Premierships and was named the Victorian Country Football League Most Disciplined Club in 2004 & 2005. The competition formed in 1893 as the Ballarat Football Association and was renamed Ballarat Football League in 1908 and was briefly known as the Ballarat-Wimmera Football League between 1934 and 1936.
