Dave DeRoo
Dave DeRoo (born September 3, 1974) is an American rock musician, known primarily for his role as bassist of the rock band Adema. Early life Dave DeRoo was born in Bakersfield, California; his father, Doug DeRoo, was a well-known radio DJ. Many of his earliest performances were while he attended East Bakersfield High School where he was in the graduating class of 1992. Professional career Sexart In 1991 DeRoo was one of the members of Sexart. Sexart has since gained cult notoriety for its connection with Korn and featured Jonathan Davis of Korn on vocals. Sexart, sometimes written SexArt or Sex Art featured musicians that would go on to careers with the bands Orgy, Dead by Sunrise, L.A.P.D, Korn, Cradle of Thorns, Videodrone, and Adema. Cradle Of Thorns
Cradle of Thorns was an American rock band. Formed in 1988 in Bakersfield, California by singer Ty Elam, the band was initially defined by their gothic rock style. After releasing their debut album, ''Remember It Day'', independently in 1990, the band signed with Triple X Records, and would come to be defined by a more dance music-oriented style influenced by heavy metal and industrial rock. In 1998, the band changed their name to Videodrone and signed with Korn's vanity label Elementree Records, releasing their self titled fourth album, ''Videodrone'' the following year, which featured a mix of industrial music and nu metal. ''Topple the Giants'' is the second EP by American rock band Adema, released on April 2, 2013 by Pavement Entertainment. It marks the band's first release in 6 years, after the release of ''Kill the Headlights''. It is the only release to feature guitarist Tim Fluckey on lead vocals. Additionally, it is the band's first release as a three-piece. The EP includes new music, along with older songs re-recorded with the new line-up. Background On July 19, 2011, the band announced that they are going in the studio soon to record their upcoming material. Later that year, they announced an EP that would be available for digital release in February 2012 with a special edition physical release in March, along with a studio album release in the summer. ''Planets'' is the third studio album by the American rock band Adema. This is Adema's first and only album with Luke Carracioli, who left the band on October 25, 2005, citing "personal differences". The album was released by Earache Records on April 5, 2005. It obtained a peak position of 152 on the Billboard 200 before falling off. ''Unstable'' is the second studio album by the American rock band Adema, and is the final album to feature its full original lineup with lead vocalist Mark Chavez and guitarist Mike Ransom departing from the band after its release and then again after their reunion, although they returned to the band in March 2017 (only for Mark to leave once again in 2019). The album was released on August 19, 2003 by Arista Records. It features the self-titled single "Unstable" and has sold about 400,000 copies worldwide. Many songs relied more on instrumentation and harmony instead of distortion in comparison to their previous album. Webster Theater
The Webster Theater is a music venue in the south end of Hartford, Connecticut. The Webster Underground is an attached smaller venue, which usually acts as a second stage during concerts on the main stage. History The Webster opened on November 19, 1937 as a movie theater by the Shulman family. Hartford's mayor, councilmen, and Connecticut state Senators were in attendance for opening night. In the 1930s and 1940s, the theater hosted a weekly "dish night," a common practice for theaters of the time, where patrons would receive free dishes to entice them to the theater. The theater was successful until the advent of the television kept more people in their homes, while the Interstate Highway System brought more people out to the suburbs. Music Man StingRay is an electric bass by Music Man, introduced in 1976. History In 1971, Fender employees Forrest White and Tom Walker, unhappy with the way CBS was managing the company, left their positions with Fender to start their own venture. First known as Tri-Sonix, Inc (often incorrectly referred to as "Tri-Sonic") and then later Musitek, Inc., the new company eventually settled on the name of MusicMan, Inc. by 1974. "The Way You Like It" is the second single from Adema's self-titled debut album. Meaning The song is about how fame changes people, how it can control people, and how it changes people into somebody they are not. Music video The music video, directed by Gregory Dark, depicts Adema playing to a large crowd of people in what appears to be an underground style moshpit. As the band plays, the video cuts away to Adema driving around town, with various scenarios along the way.
