David Bishop (writer)
David Bishop (born 27 September 1966), also D. V. Bishop, is a New Zealand comic book editor and writer of comics, novels and screenplays. In 1990s he ran the UK comics titles ''Judge Dredd Megazine'' (1991–2002) and '' 2000 AD'' (1995–2000). He has since become a prolific author and received his first drama scriptwriting credit when BBC Radio 4 broadcast his radio play ''Island Blue: Ronald'' in June 2006. In 2007, he won the PAGE International Screenwriting Award in the short film category for his script ''Danny's Toys'', and was a finalist in the 2009 PAGE Awards with his script ''The Woman Who Screamed Butterflies''. Biography Bishop was sub-editor of the ''Judge Dredd Megazine'' and of ''Crisis'', before becoming the editor of the ''Megazine'' from 1991 to 2002. David Bishop (born 9 May 1987 in Darmstadt, Germany) is an international middle-distance running athlete representing Great Britain, and was an All-American at the University of New Mexico. He was the 2013 UK National 3000m Champion and was the 2007 British University (BUCS) 3000m Indoor Champion, whilst he attended the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff. David James Bishop (born 13 September 1948) is a former New Zealand international rugby union referee, who controlled 26 international matches between 1986 and 1995, including at the first three Rugby World Cup tournaments. Bishop was born in Christchurch on 13 September 1948, the son of James and Myra Bishop, and educated at Geraldine High School. He married Alison Zanders in 1979, and the couple had two children. David Bishop (rugby, Born 1960)
David J. Bishop (born 31 October 1960), also known by the nickname of "Bish", is a Welsh former dual-code international rugby union and then rugby league footballer. As a scrum-half in rugby union, he made his first-class début for Ebbw Vale where he was outstanding. He then joined Pontypool in 1981, but not long after broke his neck. Despite being told he would never play again, he was back playing for Pontypool within a year. He only gained one cap for Wales – against Australia during the 1984 Australia rugby union tour of Britain and Ireland which Wales lost 28–9. Despite the loss Bishop was the only player to score a try against them. Bishop had played understudy to fellow scrum-half Terry Holmes, and when Holmes switched codes to rugby league in 1985, many expected Bishop to finally be given his chance to play for Wales permanently. David Bishop (born 22 September 1983) is a former Wales rugby union footballer who played at centre. Bishop primarily played for Ospreys, Sale Sharks, and Jersey. Professional career Bishop attended Treorchy Comprehensive School Treorchy Comprehensive from September 1995 to July 2002. His brother Andrew, was also a rugby union centre and has played for the Wales national rugby union team. In 2003, Bishop represented Wales at under–21 level. Bishop began his professional career in the 2003–04 Celtic League, playing for the Celtic Warriors. He joined the Ospreys in 2004 after the disbandment of the Celtic Warriors, scoring a try on his debut against Munster. In September 2005 suffered a serious knee injury in a game against Munster.
