Dave Adams (musician)
David Malcolm Adams (27 November 193819 March 2016) was a British singer, keyboard player and songwriter. Born in Jersey, Adams began working with Joe Meek in 1958 and continued to work with him until Meek's death in 1967.Chusid, Irwin (2000) ''Songs in the Key of Z: The Curious Universe of Outsider Music'', A Capella Books, , p. 29-33 In the early 1960s, he helped build up Meek's studio. Adams recorded singles with Meek under various pseudonyms and wrote songs for him. Ritchie Blackmore
Richard Hugh Blackmore (born 14 April 1945) is an English guitarist and songwriter. He was a founding member of Deep Purple in 1968, playing jam-style hard rock music that mixed guitar riffs and organ sounds. He is prolific in creating guitar riffs and classically influenced solos. During his solo career, Blackmore established the hard rock band Rainbow, which fused baroque music influences and elements of hard rock. Rainbow steadily moved to catchy pop-style mainstream rock. He later formed the traditional folk rock project Blackmore's Night along with his current wife Candice Night, shifting to vocalist-centred sounds. As a member of Deep Purple, Blackmore was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in April 2016. Triumph Records (United Kingdom)
Triumph Records was a United Kingdom, UK record label set up in January 1960 by Joe Meek and William Barrington-Coupe with the financial backing of Major Wilfred Alonzo Banks. The label existed for less than a year and although most of the artistes are unknown, many of the Gramophone record, records now sell for high prices in the record collecting world because of Meek's involvement. Even the original paper sleeves command some value. The label had three hit singles—"Angela Jones" by Michael Cox (singer), Michael Cox reaching number 7 in the UK Singles Chart, "Green Jeans" by the Flee-Rekkers peaking at #23 and George Chakiris' "Heart Of A Teenage Girl" at #49—but distribution was badly organised and Meek pulled out in June 1960. The label folded soon afterwards after a bankruptcy petition was filed on behalf of a leading musical arranger who had not been paid. ''Record Collector'' is a British monthly music magazine. It was founded in 1980 and distributes worldwide. History The early years The first standalone issue of ''Record Collector'' was published in March 1980, though its history stretches back further. In 1963, publisher Sean O'Mahony (alias Johnny Dean) had launched an official Beatles magazine, ''The Beatles Book''. Although it shut down in 1969, ''The Beatles Book'' reappeared in 1976 due to popular demand. Through the late-1970s, the small ads section of ''The Beatles Book'' became an increasingly popular avenue through which collectors could make contact and buy, sell, or trade Beatles records.
