''Dat Whoopty Woop'' is the debut studio album by American rapper and record producer Soopafly. It was released on July 31, 2001, through D.P.G. Recordz. Production was handled by Daz Dillinger, who also served as executive producer, and Soopafly himself. It features guest appearances from Daz Dillinger, Big Tray Deee, Bad Azz, Crooked I, Lil' C-Style, Gonzoe, Kurupt, Richie Rich, Snoop Dogg and Xzibit. The album is composed mostly of unused tracks recorded for Death Row Records. Priest Joseph Brooks, (known professionally as Soopafly born December 8, 1972) is a hip hop producer and rapper from Long Beach, California. He is a member of the DPGC. Early life The oldest of three children, Brooks grew up in Long Beach. He was given a keyboard by his father after being inspired by the piano players he saw in church. Early career During his teenage years, Brooks met rappers Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre. Proving himself with his keyboard skills, Soopafly was assigned his first piece of work for Death Row Records on the soundtrack ''Murder Was The Case''. Jewell Caples (June 12, 1968 – May 6, 2022), better known as Jewell (), was an American contemporary R&B singer best known for her work with Death Row Records in the early 1990s. She was called the "First Lady of Death Row Records". Career From 1992 to 1997, Jewell provided vocals on albums from various Death Row artists such as Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and 2Pac, in addition to motion picture soundtracks produced by the label. Tracy Lamar Davis (born April 27, 1966), better known by his stage name Big Tray Deee (formerly Tray Deee and Tracy Deee), is an American rapper signed with Snoop Dogg's label Dogghouse Records. Career Before becoming a rapper, Davis was an active gang member. Tray Deee is a member of the Insane Crips Gang in Long Beach, California. ''Death Row Presents... Tha Dogg Pound 2002'' is the first compilation album by American West Coast hip hop group Tha Dogg Pound. It was released on July 31, 2001 by Death Row Records and D3 Entertainment. It comprises unreleased material recorded by Tha Dogg Pound while they were signed on to Death Row Records, remixed and updated by the then-head producer Cold 187um. ''Retaliation, Revenge and Get Back'' is the debut studio album by American rapper Daz Dillinger, released on March 31, 1998 through Death Row Records and Priority Records. The promotional singles released from the album were "In California" and "It Might Sound Crazy", which both also had music videos, including an animated one. Background By 1998, Daz Dillinger was one of the last remaining artists on Death Row after its decline in 1996 after the death of 2Pac, and the departure of Dr. Dre. Daz was the head of Death Row while Suge Knight was imprisoned for violating his parole, caused by a fight he, 2Pac, and fellow Death Row members got into with Orlando Anderson in Las Vegas on Sept 7th. Death Row Records is an American record label that was founded in 1991 by The D.O.C., Dr. Dre, Suge Knight, and Dick Griffey.
