Anna Dasha Novotny (born February 27, 2000) is an American country and pop singer-songwriter. She has released one EP, ''21st Birthday'' (2021), and two studio albums: ''Dirty Blonde'' (2023) and ''What Happens Now?'' (2024). Her song "Austin" peaked at No. 19 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 in June 2024. Biography Early life and education Dasha was born and raised in San Luis Obispo, California, and is of Czech descent. When she was 5 years old, she started participating in musical theater productions. She danced ballet and hip hop. She won national poetry competitions in school and then learned to play the guitar and piano at age 8. Her dad was her first talent manager and booked gigs for her in coffee shops and wineries at age 10. Her brother, who is a guitarist for Beauty School Dropout, helped produce her music. ''Bye Bye Birdie'' is a stage musical with music by Charles Strouse and lyrics by Lee Adams, based upon a book by Michael Stewart. Originally titled ''Let's Go Steady'', ''Bye Bye Birdie'' is set in 1958. The short story "Dream Man", authored by Bill Doyle, which appeared in the May 18, 1957, issue of the ''Saturday Evening Post'' may well have been the genesis of the eventual stageplay. The play book was also influenced by Elvis Presley's conscription into the Army in 1957. The rock star character's name, "Conrad Birdie", is word play on the name of Conway Twitty. The list has passed through various name changes and has expanded from a Top 10 to a Top 100. Names Album chart by ''Stichting Nederlandse Top 40'' From 1969 to 1999, an alternative weekly album chart was published by offshore radio station Radio Veronica (1969-1974) and the '' Stichting Nederlandse Top 40'' (1974-1999).
