Darryl Stewart Fitzgerald (born 9 August 1990 in Gisborne) is a New Zealand sprint canoeist. Fitzgerald is a member of Poverty Bay Kayak Club, and is coached and trained by four-time Olympic kayaking champion Ian Ferguson (1984 and 1988). Fitzgerald qualified for the men's K-2 1000 metres at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, by placing first from the 2012 ICF Oceania Qualification Tournament in Penrith, New South Wales, Australia. Anton Ryakhov (born May 29, 1980) is an Uzbek-born Russian sprint canoer who has competed since the early 2000s. He won nine medals at the ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships with three silvers (K-1 200 m: 2002, K-1 500 m: 2001, 2006) and six bronzes (K-1 200 m: 2001, 2003, 2005; K-1 500 m: 2002, K-2 1000 m: 2010, K-4 1000 m: 2011). Ferguson was born in Auckland, New Zealand, the son of four-time Olympic gold medal-winning canoeist Ian Ferguson.
