Darren Storsley
Courage Productions runs the Miss BC pageant, including the Mrs. BC, Miss Teen BC, and Miss Charity BC titles. It was founded in Langley in 2002 by Darren Storsley. The final pageant night is televised by Shaw TV. The pageant has not been held since 2019 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. History The Miss BC pageant is organized by Darren Storsley and is part of Courage Productions. Since 2006, the pageant has been held at the Langley Fine Arts School in Fort Langley, British Columbia. Miss BC does not have limitations on its contestants' height, weight, and age, but instead claims to focus on "inner beauty", with an emphasis on life skills and charity fundraising. In 2017, the pageant announced a 15-year reunion, with many of the past winners joining together in celebration. A beauty pageant is a competition that has traditionally focused on judging and ranking the physical attributes of the contestants. Pageants have now evolved to include inner beauty, with criteria covering judging of personality, intelligence, talent, character, and charitable involvement, through private interviews with judges and answers to public on-stage questions. The term beauty pageant refers originally to the Big Four international beauty pageants. Mister International
Mister International is an annual international male beauty pageant that the Mister International Organization runs since 2006. Along with its rival contest, Mister World, this pageant is one of the two largest male beauty pageants in the world in terms of the number of national-level competitions. Manhunt International is an International Male Model Search for the next MALE SUPERMODEL, which began in 1993, though the roots of the pageant go back a few years more to when one single national preliminary was held in Singapore. Miss World 2012, the 62nd edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 18 August 2012 at Dongsheng Fitness Center Stadium in Ordos, Inner Mongolia, China. 116 contestants from all over the world competed for the crown. Tara Teng
Tara Teng (born August 16, 1988) is a Canadian former pageant winner. She was named Miss Canada in 2011 and Miss World Canada in 2012. During her title reigns she was an advocate for human rights and spoke about human trafficking. Early life and education Teng is the daughter of a Chinese Singaporean church pastor father and a European Canadian mother, and she was raised as a Christian. She was homeschooled until the age of 15. She received a Bachelor of Education from Trinity Western University (TWU). Teng spent four months studying at TWU's Laurentian Leadership Centre (LLC) in Ottawa, participating in the Laurentian Leadership Program. While in Ottawa, she had a year-long internship with Joy Smith, Member of Parliament (MP) for Kildonan—St. Paul in Winnipeg, who had been working to implement laws to reduce the demand for prostitution in Canada and on improving awareness about human trafficking.
