Darren Oliver (footballer)
Darren Oliver (born 1 November 1971) is a former English footballer who played as a defender. He signed for Bolton as a youth trainee in the summer of 1990, working firstly under the management of Phil Neal and then Bruce Rioch. Rioch gave him his Football League debut in October 1992 in an away game at Leyton Orient replacing the experienced David Burke as the Wanderers left-back. Burnden Park
Burnden Park was the home of English football club Bolton Wanderers who played home games there between 1895 and 1997. As well as hosting the 1901 FA Cup Final replay, it was the scene in 1946 of one of the greatest disasters in English football, and the subject of an L. S. Lowry painting. It was demolished in 1999, two years after Bolton moved to Horwich and their new home at the Reebok Stadium. David Burke (English Footballer)
David Ian Burke (born 6 August 1960 in Liverpool) is an English former professional footballer. He played as a left-back. Burke began his career at Bolton Wanderers in 1977, making his league debut as an 18-year-old on 2 September 1978, in a 2–2 draw at Birmingham. He remained at Burnden Park for four years, making 69 league appearances and scoring one goal. In 1981, he moved across the Pennines to join Huddersfield Town. He went on to make almost 200 appearances for the West Yorkshire club. He signed for Steve Coppell's Crystal Palace in 1987. He won promotion via the play-offs to the top flight with Palace in 1988–89 but did not make the squad for the 1990 FA Cup Final, which Palace lost to Manchester United after a replay.
