Darren Emerson
Darren Paul Emerson (born 30 April 1971) is an English musician, DJ and producer best known as a former member of the British electronic music musical ensemble, group Underworld (band), Underworld. Career Early life Emerson began mixing Hip hop music, hip hop records at the age of 14, and by 16 was DJing regularly at local venues. He began to explore House Music, house music and quickly acquired a reputation as one of the top British DJs, and demand for his services saw him playing at top clubs such as The Milk Bar, Limelight, and Venus. Emerson has garnered several accolades such as "DJ of the Month" in ''The Face (magazine), The Face'' and ''i-D'' magazines. Danny Howells
Danny Howells (born 24 November 1970) is an England, English record producer, producer and disc jockey, DJ. His music is often described as progressive house, though he prefers to associate more with tech house and is sometimes described simply as "deepsexyfuturistictechfunkouse". At performances, he is well known to interact personally with the audience. Howells has mixed several albums for Global Underground in addition to his ''Nocturnal Frequencies'' series. Following the huge success of the single " Born Slippy .NUXX" from its use in the film ''Trainspotting'', ''Beaucoup Fish'' was Underworld's most anticipated release. It spawned several successful singles, including "Push Upstairs", "Jumbo" and " Moaner", which was previously used in the film '' Batman & Robin''. "Born Slippy .NUXX" is a song by British electronic music group Underworld. It was first released as the B-side to "Born Slippy", in May 1995. The fragmented lyrics, by vocalist Karl Hyde, describe the perspective of an alcoholic. After it was used in the 1996 film ''Trainspotting'', "Born Slippy .NUXX" was issued as a single on 1 July 1996 and reached number two on the UK Singles Chart. It has been named one of the best tracks of the 1990s by numerous publications. Karl Hyde
Karl Hyde (born 10 May 1957) is an English musician and artist. He is a founding member of British electronic group Underworld. Hyde has also released a solo album, made albums with Brian Eno and Matthew Herbert, and contributed towards the score for the London 2012 Summer Olympics Opening Ceremony alongside Rick Smith. He is a founding member of the multi-discipline design and film collective Tomato and has published several books. Career Hyde moved to Cardiff in the late 1970s to study at Cardiff College of Art. There he formed the new wave-synthpop band Freur in 1982 with Rick Smith and Alfie Thomas. Richard Smith (born 25 May 1959) is a Welsh musician and composer. He is a founding member of British electronic music group Underworld and an acclaimed composer, having collaborated extensively with director Danny Boyle, most notably as the musical director for the London 2012 Summer Olympics Opening Ceremony, alongside Underworld's Karl Hyde. He is also a founding member of the multi-discipline design and film collective Tomato. Career Smith left a bank clerk job in Llanelli to do an electronic and electrical engineering degree; however, he dropped out during his finals after being asked to join Hyde’s band The Screen Gemz.
