Winfield is a city and county seat of Cowley County, Kansas, United States. It is situated along the Walnut River in South Central Kansas. History Origins The newspaper's first issue came off the press on September 24, 1869, just six months after Ulysses S. "The Tell-Tale Heart" is a short story by American writer Edgar Allan Poe, first published in 1843.
