Darren Connell (comedian)
Darren Connell is a Scottish stand-up comedian, podcaster and actor. He is possibly best known for playing the role of Bobby Muir in the television series '' Scot Squad''. Life and career Connell grew up in Springburn in Glasgow. He started performing stand up gigs whilst juggling a full-time job at a supermarket until fellow comedian Kevin Bridges convinced him to quit and do comedy full time. Since then, Connell has gone on to host many solo shows across the UK including an appearance at the 2016 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Writing about his show ''No Filter'', Jay Richardson of Chortle wrote: In 2019, his show, ''Abandon All Hope'' played to a sell out audience at the 2019 edition of the Glasgow Comedy Festival. Greg Hemphill
Gregory Edward Hemphill (born 14 December 1969) is a Scottish-Canadian comedian, actor, writer, and director. He is best known for his work with Ford Kiernan on the BBC Scotland comedy series ''Chewin' The Fat'' (1999–2005) and ''Still Game'' (2002–2007, 2016–2019). Hemphill was Rector of the University of Glasgow (2001–2004). Personal life Hemphill was born in Glasgow, Scotland, the son of Edward, a chartered accountant, and Anne Hemphill (née Brophy) a teacher. The British Academy Scotland New Talent Awards are presented at an annual award ceremony organised by BAFTA Scotland. History In 2009, BAFTA Scotland held the very first British Academy Scotland New Talent Awards. The annual awards ceremony recognises, inspires and celebrates emerging practitioners from all over Scotland and gives up-and-coming talent a platform to showcase their work to industry. The ceremony has been held in various locations including the Glasgow Film Theatre and The Arches (Glasgow). Since 2012, Muriel Gray has been the host of the ceremony.
