Darrell Foss
Darrell Foss (born Darrell Burton Foss; March 24, 1892 – September 15, 1962) was a film actor. He had a leading role in films including in ''The Loyalty of Taro San'', a Triangle Film Corporation production, and opposite May Allison in at least two films, ''The Walk-Offs'' and ''Held In Trust, Held in Trust''. He taught a character played by Gloria Swanson to play the banjo in one film. Biography Darrell Foss was born 28 March 1892 in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, USA as Darrell Burton Foss. He died 15 September 1962 in Los Angeles, California at the age of 70. Nelson Evans
Nelson Frazier Evans (June 6, 1889 – October 17, 1922) was an American photographer during the days of Old Hollywood. Evans was known for his portraits of film actors such as Darrell Foss, Marie Prevost, Louise Glaum and many others during the silent film era including director Philip Rosen. He is considered one of the creators of pin-up photography. Biography Evans was born in Columbus, Ohio. He was the son of a coal mine operator, who objected to Evans' choice to pursue a career in photography. Initially working in the eastern United States, Evans moved to the west coast in the 1910s to pursue a career as a portrait photographer in Hollywood, eventually establishing a studio at 6039 Hollywood Boulevard in 1915. At the time, Hollywood studio photographers focused mainly on shooting movie still images of sets and scenes — actors and actresses were forced to find personal photographers to take portrait shots. Edith Roberts ( – August 20, 1935) was an American silent film actress from New York City. Career Born in New York City, Roberts was a child actress. Roberts performed in Vaudeville Theatre before she went to Hollywood, in 1916. Among her more than 150 screen credits, are roles in '' Seven Keys to Baldpate'' (1925), ''Big Brother'' (1923), ''The Wagon Master'' (1929), ''The Mystery Club'' (1926), and ''Two O'Clock in the Morning'' (1929). In 1927, Roberts spent four months in Australia and Fiji Islands as a co-star of a film for Australasian Film Company, Ltd. She also starred in films for Universal. In 1920, she completed work on '' White Youth'' and signed a long-term contract with Universal. Roberts's final film appearance was in ''The Adorable Savage'' (1933).
