Darragh Stakelum
Darragh Stakelum is an Irish hurler who plays club hurling for Thurles Sarsfields and at inter-county level with the Tipperary senior hurling team. He is the son of former Tipperary hurler Conor Stakelum and the brother of current Tipperary hurler Conor Stakelum junior. Thurles Sarsfields GAA
Thurles Sarsfields is a Tipperary GAA club which is located in County Tipperary, Ireland. Both hurling and Gaelic football are played in the "Mid-Tipperary" divisional competitions. The club is centred in the town of Thurles at Semple Stadium. The club was founded in 1881 and is the most honoured club in the history of the county championship with 36 County Titles. Hurling ( ga, iománaíocht, ') is an outdoor team game of ancient Gaelic Irish origin, played by men. One of Ireland's native Gaelic games, it shares a number of features with Gaelic football, such as the field and goals, the number of players and much terminology. The same game played by women is called camogie ('), which shares a common Gaelic root. Tipperary Senior Hurling Team
The Tipperary county hurling team represents Tipperary in hurling and is governed by Tipperary GAA, the county board of the Gaelic Athletic Association. Conor Stakelum
Conor Stakelum (born 1968) is an Irish hurling selector and former player. He is a current selector with the Tipperary senior team. Born in Borrisoleigh, County Tipperary, Stakelum was born into a family that had a strong association with hurling. His uncle, Pat Stakelum, was an All-Ireland-winning captain with Tipperary in 1949. Stakelum quickly became involved with the Borris–Ileigh team at underage levels, winning minor and under-21 county championship medals. He quickly progressed onto the senior club team and won a set of All-Ireland, Munster and county senior championship medals during the 1986-87 season. Stakelum made his debut on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he joined the Tipperary minor team in 1986. After little success in this grade he progressed onto the under-21 team, winning an All-Ireland medal in 1989. Conor Stakelum is an Irish hurler who plays for club side Thurles Sarsfields and at inter-county level with the Tipperary senior hurling team. He is usually deployed as a corner-forward. 2024 Tipperary County Hurling Team Season
The 2024 season was Liam Cahill's second year as manager of the Tipperary GAA, Tipperary senior hurling team. The team was sponsored for the third year by financial services technology solutions company Fiserv. The team wore a new home O'Neills jersey with a yellow ribbed neck design and a tribute watermark image of Michael Hogan (Gaelic footballer), Michael Hogan displayed on the right sleeve. On 30 January Ronan Maher (hurler), Ronan Maher was named as List of Tipperary senior hurling team captains, captain for 2014, with Jake Morris (hurler), Jake Morris named as vice-captain.
