Darragh Joyce
Darragh Joyce (born 23 April 1997) is a professional Australian rules footballer playing for the in the Australian Football League (AFL), after originally being recruited to the St Kilda Football Club. He made his debut in round 15 of the 2018 season against Melbourne at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. AFL career Joyce is originally from Ireland and played hurling for his county Kilkenny and also for club Rower-Inistioge. He tested at the 2015 AFL Draft Combine, but did not sign with a club because of concerns about homesickness. Joyce trialled with St Kilda in June 2016, and joined as a Category B International Rookie before the 2017 season. He played for St Kilda's Victorian Football League affiliate Sandringham, but struggled for form and was dropped to the reserves. The Victorian Football League (VFL) is an Australian rules football league in Australia serving as one of the second-tier regional semi-professional competitions which sit underneath the fully professional Australian Football League (AFL). It includes teams from clubs based in the eastern states of Australia: Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland, and includes reserves teams for the east coast AFL clubs. Kevin Walsh (born 9 February 1962) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Essendon in the VFL during the 1980s. The Essendon Football Club, nicknamed the Bombers, is a professional Australian rules football club. The club plays in the Australian Football League (AFL), the game's premier competition. The club was formed by the McCracken family in their Ascot Vale, Victoria, Ascot Vale home "Alisa", and while the exact date is unknown, it is generally accepted to have been in 1872. Kieran Joyce (hurler)
Kieran Joyce (born 4 April 1987) is an Irish hurler. His league and championship career with the Kilkenny senior team lasted seven seasons from 2011 until 2017. Born in Portlaoise, County Laois, Joyce developed as a hurler during his secondary schooling at Good Counsel College in New Ross. While subsequently studying at the University of Limerick he captained the university hurling team to the Fitzgibbon Cup title. At club level Joyce came to prominence at juvenile and underage levels with the Rower–Inistioge club, before eventually joining the club's adult team. An All-Ireland medal winner in the intermediate grade in 2014, Joyce also won Leinster and county championship medals. Joyce made his debut on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he was selected for the Kilkenny minor team. Lindsay Gilbee
Lindsay Gilbee (born 8 July 1981) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Western Bulldogs in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was selected by the Bulldogs in the 3rd round of the 1999 National AFL Draft with pick 43 after playing for the Eastern Ranges in the TAC Cup. He retired after the 2012 season. Gilbee currently serves as a development coach at the St Kilda Football Club. Known as one of the best kicks in the AFL, Gilbee rejected offers to trial in the United States to become an American football punter. In 2019, Gilbee's family discovered that his maternal grandmother was an Indigenous woman from the Booandik people, who was raised in fostercare, after her mother died within weeks of childbirth.
