Darko Kostić ( sr-cyr, Дарко Костић, el, Ντάρκο Ράλλη (Ntarko Rallis); born 30 September 1978) is a Serbian–Greek professional basketball coach and former player. Playing career Rallis had two stints with the Belgian team Okapi Aalstar where played during 1998–99 and 2000–01 season. In between he played for the German team Ratiopharm Ulm. In 2003, he moved to Slovakia where he played for two seasons for Chemosvit Svit and MBK Lučenec. Also, he played for the Ecuadorian team Salesianos Club Guayaquil. On 2 November 2011 Rallis signed for Doxa Lefkadas of the Greek A2 League. He also played for the Greek A2 League teams Ermis Lagkada, and Livadeia. Coaching career Prior to the 2016–17 season Kostić was named as a head coach of OKK Beograd after one year he spent there as an assistant coach of the head coach Vlade Đurović. Basketball coaching is the act of directing and strategizing the behavior of a basketball team or individual basketball player. Basketball coaching typically encompasses the improvement of individual and team offensive and defensive skills, as well as overall physical conditioning. Coaches also have the responsibility to improve their team by player development, strategy, and in-game management. Coaches also teach and inspire their team to be their best. Coaching is usually performed by a single person, often with the help of one or more assistants. The Basketball League of Serbia ( sr, Кошаркашка лига Србије, Košarkaška liga Srbije; abbr. КЛС or KLS), is a top-tier men's professional basketball league in Serbia. Founded in 2006, it is run by the Basketball Federation of Serbia (KSS). Rules Competition format The league, operated by the Basketball Federation of Serbia, consists of two stages: the First League which has 16 teams and the SuperLeague which has 8 teams. BC Beroe ( bg, БК Берое) is a Bulgarian professional basketball club based in Stara Zagora and plays in the Bulgarian National Basketball League. The 2016–17 Basketball League of Serbia season is the 11th season of the Basketball League of Serbia, the highest professional basketball league in Serbia. It is also 73rd national championship played by Serbian clubs inclusive of nation's previous incarnations as Yugoslavia and Serbia & Montenegro. The first half of the season consists of 14 teams and 182–game regular season (26 games for each of the 14 teams) began on October 8, 2016, and ended on April 12, 2017.
