Metalcore
Metalcore (also known as metallic hardcore) is a fusion music genre that combines elements of extreme metal and hardcore punk. As with other styles blending metal and hardcore, such as crust punk and grindcore, metalcore is noted for its use of breakdowns, slow, intense passages conducive to moshing. The roots of metalcore are in the 1980s when bands would combine hardcore punk with heavy metal. This included New York hardcore bands like Agnostic Front, Cro-Mags, and Killing Time, British hardcore p ... Behemoth (band)
Behemoth is a Polish extreme metal band from Gdańsk, formed in 1991. They are considered to have played an important role in establishing the Polish extreme metal underground. Until the late 1990s, the band played a traditional black metal style with heathen lyrical content, but soon changed to that of occult and thelemic themes written by their lead vocalist Nergal and Krzysztof Azarewicz. With the 1999 release of '' Satanica'', the band demonstrated their presence in the death metal scene, while retaining their own signature style characterized by the drum work of Inferno and multi-layered vocals. Despite Behemoth having been labeled as death metal or thrash metal-influenced, Nergal has mentioned that he does not like the band to be labeled. History Early career and first five albums (1991–2000) Behemoth was formed in 1991 as a trio, with Nergal on lead guitar and vocals, Baal on drums, and Desecrator on rhythm guitar. They started with the demos ''Endless Damnation'', a ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Loudblast
Loudblast is a French death/thrash metal band from Villeneuve-d'Ascq that pioneered the genres in France, and one of the most important French metal bands of the 1990s. History The band began in 1986 in the northern city of Lille. Its first recording was a split CD with the Nice-based band Agressor. They have released seven albums on the record labels Semetary/Fnac, Metal13, and Listenable. They began playing thrash metal influenced by the classic American bands such as Slayer. In 1991, they recorded the album "Disincarnate" in Morrisound Recording studios in Tampa, Florida, and the result was a pure death metal album. In the late 1990s, they incorporated more melody and groove in their music while maintaining a thrash/death aesthetic. The band announced that they were splitting in 1999, but after a support concert to Death's late frontman Chuck Schuldiner in 2000, the band reformed with Agressor's Alex Colin-Tocquaine and released Planet Pandemonium in 2002. Maroon (band)
Maroon was a German metalcore band based in Nordhausen. They were formed in 1998. History Maroon released a demo cassette in 1999 entitled ''The Initiate'' although all four songs can be found on later releases. Their first CD, ''Captive in the Room of the Conspirator'', was recorded at Headquarters Studion in Berlin in spring 2000 and released that year on the (now-defunct) Kerosene Recordings label, featuring such songs as "The Solution' which strongly advocated a vegan lifestyle and support for animal liberation and earth liberation. Architects (British Band)
Architects is a British metalcore band from Brighton, East Sussex, formed in 2004 by twin brothers Dan and Tom Searle. The band now consists of Dan Searle on drums, Sam Carter on vocals, Alex Dean on bass, and Adam Christianson and Josh Middleton on guitars. They have been signed to Epitaph Records since 2013. Strongly influenced by bands such as The Dillinger Escape Plan, the sound of their first three albums was coarse, chaotic, and rhythmically complex. In 2011, Architects went in a more melodic post-hardcore direction with ''The Here and Now'', alienating some of their fanbase. The following year, they returned towards their original style with ''Daybreaker (Architects album), Daybreaker'', establishing a balance of melody and technical harshness while introducing more politicised lyrics. With the release of their sixth album ''Lost Forever // Lost Together'' in 2014, the band achieved lasting popularity and critical acclaim. Soon after the release of their seventh album, ...
