''Darker'' is the debut studio album of C-Tec, released on 1 September 1997 by Synthetic Symphony. The album showcases the band wanting to experiment by integrating different styles and textures into their compositions after the release of their 1995 EP '' Cyber-Tec''. On 5 October 2018 the album was reissued as a music download with an additional track titled "My Unbreakable Code" and written by Marc Heal. Reception Greg Prato of AllMusic said "the aptly titled ''Darker'' is industrial-influenced, aggressive electronic dance music with all of the necessary ingredients for success -- the vocals are sung with the mandatory pissed-off foreign accent, and the music drills into your brain with ease." Pitchfork Media described the music as having "high-energy, egomaniacal attitudes" and claimed "as any good darkwave album would, it also takes a plunge into the lonelier side of despair and isolation." Simon Clark (novelist)
Simon Clark (born 20 April 1958) is a horror novelist from Doncaster, England. He is the author of the novel ''The Night of the Triffids'', the novella ''Humpty's Bones'', and the short story ''Goblin City Lights'', which have all won awards. Most of his stories are based in Yorkshire, his home county. He also uses a technique that he calls "The Art of Wandering". The idea for ''Goblin City Lights'' arose from wandering in a London graveyard. Biography Simon Clark was born on 20 April 1958 in Doncaster, England. He is married and has two children. Clark began his career writing stories for fanzines. One of these was the semiprozine ''Back Brain Recluse'' (BBR). His first published collection of stories was ''Blood And Grit'', published by BBR in 1990. In 1994 an editor named Nick Austin at Hodder Headline bought both ''Nailed by the Heart'' and ''Blood Crazy''. An agent agreed to represent Clark. ''Darker'' is a single-player futuristic flight simulator video game published by Psygnosis in 1995 for MS-DOS. The player assumes the role of Tolly, a civilian shuttle pilot in the city of Delphi, the only city situated on the dark side of a planet in synchronous rotation around the local star. The player must defend Delphi from the Halons, inhabitants of the planet's light side, who are invading Delphi. The game takes place over a number of missions on the planet's surface and in tunnels. The game supports the VFX-1 virtual reality headset. Plot Darker's story is revealed over the course of the game as information gathered by reconnaissance. The people of Delphi are not militarised, having never had reason for military action, and so technology for combating the Halon menace is developed over the course of the game. Darker Magazine (russian: Даркер) is a Russian monthly horror webzine. It covers various sorts of horror media, including slasher, splatter, exploitation films, as well as horror literature, videogames, comic books and dark music. The magazine is in regular publication since April, 2011. It is part of Russian Horror Web. It publishes articles, interviews, reviews and short stories by Russian and foreign authors. The zine also helds an annual literary contest “The Devil's Dozen”, which is the largest among horror stories in Russian. Darker Magazine is a cult outlet in Russian Internet horror segment, and its mission is support of horror in Russia.
