Dark Sky Distance is a Professional Distance Running Team sponsored by Under Armour and based in Flagstaff, Arizona. The team focuses on events ranging from 1500m to Marathon with representation from the US and Internationally. History The group was founded in the Fall of 2020 with an initial roster of 10 runners. The group is named after the dark night skies found in Flagstaff, due to the city's commitment to reducing light pollution. The training group was founded with Stephen Haas as a head coach. Kasey Knevelbaard (born September 2, 1996) is an American middle- and long-distance runner, who competes for Under Armour. He competed collegiately for the Southern Utah Thunderbirds from 2015 through spring 2019, before becoming a graduate transfer to Florida State in fall of 2019. He won the gold medal in the 5000 m at the 2023 Pan American Games. Weini Kelati Frezghi (born 1 December 1996) is an Eritrean-born American middle- and long-distance runner. She claimed asylum in the United States in July 2014 and subsequently achieved multiple victories in state- and national-level competitions while attending Heritage High School in Leesburg, Virginia. While competing for the University of New Mexico, Kelati won the 2019 NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships. In June 2021, she became a U.S. citizen and began competing as an American. Blake Haney
Blake is a surname which originated from Old English. Running career High school Matt Llano was a fourth-place finisher at 2005 Maryland 4A State Cross Country Championship and an eighth place finisher at the 2004 Maryland 4A State Cross Country Championship representing Broadneck High School.
