Dark Empire Sourcebook
''Dark Empire Sourcebook'' is a supplement published by West End Games in 1993 for the science fiction role-playing '' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game''. Contents In 1987, four years after the release of the third (and at the time, the final) ''Star Wars'' movie, ''Return of the Jedi'', West End Games published the popular ''Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game''. However, by 1992, having published many supplements and adventures, West End Games was finding it increasingly difficult to create original material out of the original trilogy of movies; they decided to release a second edition of the game based on other material that had been published. West End Games
West End Games (WEG) was a company that made Board game, board, Role-playing game, role-playing, and wargaming, war games. It was founded by Daniel Scott Palter in 1974 in New York City, but later moved to Honesdale, Pennsylvania. The ''D6 System'' is a role-playing game system published by West End Games (WEG) and licensees. While the system is primarily intended for pen-and-paper role-playing games, variations of the system have also been used in live action role-playing games and miniature battle games. Space Opera
Space opera is a subgenre of science fiction that emphasizes space warfare, with use of melodramatic, risk-taking space adventures, relationships, and chivalric romance. Set mainly or entirely in outer space, it features technological and social advancements (or lack thereof) in faster-than-light travel, futuristic weapons, and sophisticated technology, on a backdrop of galactic empires and interstellar wars with fictional aliens, often in fictional galaxies. ''Dark Empire'' is a ''Star Wars'' comic book metaseries produced by Dark Horse Comics. Tom Veitch
Tom Veitch (September 26, 1941 – February 14, 2022) was an American writer, known for his work in the comic book industry. He was also a novelist and a poet. He was the brother of comics writer and artist Rick Veitch. Early life Veitch was born on September 26, 1941, as the oldest of six children. His family moved from Walpole, New Hampshire, to Bellows Falls, Vermont. He attended Columbia University. While living in New York City, he published his first book ''Literary Days'' (1964). From 1965 to 1968, Veitch was a Benedictine monk at Weston Priory. In 1968, he moved to San Francisco and started a poetry magazine, the ''Tom Veitch Magazine.'' Comics career Veitch was a contributor to the underground comix movement of the early 1970s. Campbell ("Cam") Kennedy is a Scottish comics artist. He is best known for his work on '' 2000 AD'', especially the flagship titles ''Judge Dredd'' and ''Rogue Trooper''. Biography Following work in commercial art in his hometown of Glasgow, Kennedy went freelance and worked as an illustrator on D.C. Dave Dorman (born 1958 in Michigan) is a science fiction, horror and fantasy illustrator best known for his '' Star Wars'' artwork. Early life Dorman's parents are Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Jack N. Dorman and Phyllis Dorman. Both parents are deceased. Dorman is married to award-winning TV/video producer, writer and publicist Denise (McDonald) Dorman of WriteBrain Media. He has a son, Jack, who was born in 2004.
