Darius Campbell
Darius Campbell Danesh (19 August 1980 – 11 August 2022) was a Scottish singer-songwriter, actor and film producer. He first came to prominence as Darius Danesh when he appeared in the first series of ''Popstars'' in 2001, and the 2002 inaugural series of the ITV talent contest ''Pop Idol''. Under the name Darius, he recorded two studio albums, ''Dive In'' (2002) and '' Live Twice'' (2004), with both reaching top 40 in the UK Albums Chart. His debut single, "Colourblind", reached No. 1 in the UK Singles Chart in 2002. His next singles, " Rushes" and "Incredible (What I Meant to Say)", reached the top ten in the UK in 2002 and 2003, respectively. Campbell Danesh performed the role of Billy Flynn in the West End production of ''Chicago'' in two runs of the musical. ''Live Twice'' is Darius Danesh's second and final album released on 25 October 2004. It did not do as well as his previous album, ''Dive In'', charting at number 36 in the UK albums chart. He wrote 12 songs on the album; the only song he does not have a writing credit for is ''Save Me''. Stephen Lipson was executive producer and Darius himself produced the track ''Secret Song''. Rolando Villazón Mauleón (born 22 February 1972) is a Mexican operatic tenor, stage director, author, radio and television personality and artistic director. He now lives in France, and in 2007 became a French citizen. Villazón has published several books, including the novels ''Malabares'' and ''Paladas de sombra contra la oscuridad'' which have been translated into French and German. ''Gone with the Wind'' is a musical written by Margaret Martin. It is adapted from Margaret Mitchell's 1936 novel of the same name and its 1939 film adaptation by Trevor Nunn. The production began previews on 5 April 2008 and officially opened at the New London Theatre in London's West End on 22 April 2008. The production was directed by Nunn and featured sets by John Napier and costumes by Andreane Neofitu. Darius Danesh and Jill Paice starred as Rhett Butler and Scarlett O'Hara respectively. The show was produced by Aldo Scrofani, Colin Ingram, Gary McAvay and the Nederlander Producing Company. The production closed on 14 June 2008, after 79 performances. Sir Trevor Robert Nunn (born 14 January 1940) is a British theatre director. He has been the Artistic Director for the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Royal National Theatre, and, currently, the Theatre Royal, Haymarket. Rhett Butler (Born in 1828) is a fictional character in the 1936 novel ''Gone with the Wind'' by Margaret Mitchell and in the 1939 film adaptation of the same name. ''Guys and Dolls'' is a musical with music and lyrics by Frank Loesser and book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows. "Rushes" is a song by Scottish singer-songwriter Darius. It was his second single release and was taken from his 2002 debut album, '' Dive In''. "Rushes" was released on 25 November 2002, reaching number five on the UK Singles Chart and number 37 in Ireland. Production Darius wrote "Rushes" when he was 16 years old. He originally wrote the lyrics on the back of a bus ticket. It is about a girl who got on the same bus as him, but he could not pluck up the courage to speak to her. As with the majority of the songs on his album, he was involved in the creative writing process. Critical reception Michael Osborn wrote in a review for the BBC that the song is "a rich, chugging, rock-tinged little ditty", although he also commented that it is "hardly a quirky experiment lacking in pop sensibilities".
