Dario Smoje
Dario Smoje (born 19 September 1978 in Rijeka, Croatia) is a former Croatian association football, footballer who played as a Defender (association football), defender. He started his senior career at NK Rijeka, before spending four years in Italy. He spent the next three years back in Croatia before moving to Belgium for five years and finishing his career with short stints in Greece and back in Croatia. Career Early career Dario Smoje began his senior career at NK Rijeka. There he debuted as a 16-year-old. Move to Italy After two years in the senior team at Rijeka, he moved to Italian giants A.C. Milan, in a move worth close to €1m. Competing for places at Milan with the likes of Paolo Maldini, Alessandro Costacurta and Marcel Desailly, the young man didn't get many chances, making just seven appearances in all competitions in his first season with Milan. Rijeka
Rijeka ( , , ; also known as Fiume hu, Fiume, it, Fiume ; local Chakavian: ''Reka''; german: Sankt Veit am Flaum; sl, Reka) is the principal seaport and the third-largest city in Croatia (after Zagreb and Split). The Hrvatska nogometna liga () ( en, Croatian football league), also known as HNL or for sponsorship reasons the SuperSport HNL, is the top Croatian professional football league competition, established in 1992. Previously, it was called Prva Hrvatska nogometna liga (First Croatian Football League), but a league structure reorganization from 2022–23 led to name changes for the three top league levels. The 2007 UEFA Intertoto Cup was the 19th and penultimate edition of the competition and took 50 entries. Three rounds were held, and 11 teams qualified for the second qualifying round of the UEFA Cup. The draw took place at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland on 23 April 2007. 2006 UEFA Intertoto Cup
The 2006 UEFA Intertoto Cup was the first edition after a major change of the competition format. There were only three rounds instead of five, and eleven tournament co-winners qualified for the second qualifying round of the UEFA Cup (instead of three teams qualifying for the first round proper). Also, for the first time in the modern history of the competition, an outright winner was highlighted from the 11 co-winners of the Cup, with that honour going to the final-round Intertoto winner that advanced farthest in the UEFA Cup. UEFA Intertoto Cup
The UEFA Intertoto Cup (from la, Inter, 'between' + german: toto, 'betting pool'),Most precisely, from (football pool); cf. often abbreviated and more known in the German-speaking world as UI Cup and originally called the International Football Cup, was a summer football competition. The competition was discontinued after the 2008 tournament. Teams who originally would have entered the Intertoto Cup now directly enter the qualifying stages of the UEFA Europa League from this point. The tournament was founded in 1961–62, but was only taken over by UEFA in 1995. Initially, the tournament ended with a single champion, who received the Intertoto Cup. Belgian Cup
The Belgian Cup (french: link=no, Coupe de Belgique; nl, Beker van België []; german: link=no, Belgischer Fußballpokal) is the main Single-elimination tournament, knockout association football, football competition in Belgium, run by the Belgian Football Association, Royal Belgian FA. The competition started in 1908 with provincial selections as the "Belgian Provinces Cup". Starting from 1912 only actual clubs were allowed to partake. Croatian Supercup
The Croatian Football Super Cup is a football match between the winners of the Croatian national top league and football cup. The Super Cup is always held at the beginning of a new football season, and is only held when different clubs win the two most important competitions in the previous season (i.e. the match is not played when a club completes the domestic double). Since the establishment of Croatian football competitions in 1992, the two local powerhouses Dinamo, Hajduk and HNK Rijeka won doubles on twelve occasions (Dinamo Zagreb 11, Hajduk Split 1, Rijeka 1).
