Dario Marianelli
Dario Marianelli (born 21 June 1963) is an Italian composer. Early life Marianelli was born in Pisa, Italy. He studied piano and composition in Florence and in 1990 he moved to London. After a year as a postgraduate composer at the Guildhall School of Music, he took up a three-year postgraduate program at the National Film and Television School in London, from which he graduated in 1997. While there, he also undertook diverse projects, composing for concerts, contemporary ballet and theatre productions. Career Marianelli had already written scores for several films and TV projects, including movies such as '' Ailsa'' and '' Pandaemonium'', when director Joe Wright contacted him about scoring his 2005 film '' Pride & Prejudice''. The Dublin International Film Festival (DIFF; ) is an annual film festival that has been held in Dublin, Ireland, since 2003. History The Dublin International Film Festival was established in 2003. It was revived by Michael Dwyer (journalist), Michael Dwyer, international film critic and ''The Irish Times'' chief film correspondent, along with David McLoughlin, film producer. Production The story idea was itself based upon a bible story told by a teacher to Kapadia when he was seven years old about a thief who became a saint.
