''Daria'' is an American adult animation, adult animated sitcom created by Glenn Eichler and Susie Lewis, Susie Lewis Lynn. The series ran from March 3, 1997, to January 21, 2002, on MTV. It focuses on the title character, Daria Morgendorffer, an intelligent, cynical high school student, voiced by Tracy Grandstaff. It is a Spin-off (media), spin-off of Mike Judge's earlier animated series, ''Beavis and Butt-Head'', in which Daria appeared as a recurring character. Although Judge allowed the character to star in a spin-off, he had no involvement in the production of ''Daria'' himself, as he was busy working on ''King of the Hill''. In June 2019, MTV announced a ''Daria'' animated spin-off series, ''Jodie'' (originally ''Daria & Jodie''), with actress Tracee Ellis Ross voicing the titular character and serving as an executive producer. Daria Morgendorffer
Daria Morgendorffer is a fictional character from the MTV animated series ''Beavis and Butt-Head'' and its spin-off ''Daria''. She was voiced in both productions by Tracy Grandstaff. In 2002, Daria placed at number 41 on the list of the ''Top 50 Greatest Cartoon Characters of All Time'' by ''TV Guide'' for her role in the two shows. She was also listed in AOL's 100 Most Memorable Female TV Characters. Conception and development Mike Judge created the Daria character on advice of the network. Splendora was an American all-female alternative rock band from New York City. Formed in 1993 by Janet Wygal (lead vocals, guitar), Tricia Wygal (lead vocals, bass), Delissa Santos (drums), Cindy Brolsma (cello), and Jennifer Richardson (violin), the band released one studio album, ''In the Grass'' (1995), before disbanding in 2002. ''Beavis and Butt-Head'' is an American adult animated series created by Mike Judge. The series follows Beavis and Butt-Head, both voiced by Judge, a pair of teenage slackers characterized by their apathy, lack of intelligence, lowbrow humor, and love for hard rock and heavy metal music. MTV Animation is the animation department of the television network MTV. History In 1991, MTV debuted its first full-length animated series, ''Liquid Television'', which helped launch ''Beavis and Butt-Head'' and ''Æon Flux''.
