Danzey Railway Station
Danzey is a railway station which serves the small village of Danzey Green, and the larger but slightly more distant village of Tanworth-in-Arden in Warwickshire, England. Situated on the North Warwickshire Line, the station was opened by the Great Western Railway in 1908 along with the line, and was originally known as ''Danzey for Tanworth''. It is a few minutes walk from Danzey Green, and around one mile from Tanworth-in-Arden. Services The service in each direction between Kidderminster and Stratford via Birmingham runs hourly. Danzey Green
Danzey Green, sometimes known locally as simply Danzey, is a small rural hamlet in Warwickshire, England. It is within the civil parish of Tanworth-in-Arden, the village of which is around one mile to the north-west. Just east of Danzey is the River Alne. It is situated south south-east of Birmingham, east of Bromsgrove and north north-west of Stratford-upon-Avon. It is served by Danzey railway station on the adjacent North Warwickshire Line. Danzey Green was once home to a windmill, which was built in 1830, but it stopped working in 1874 after being damaged in a severe storm. In public transport, a request stop, flag stop, or whistle stop is a stop or station at which buses or trains, respectively, stop only on request; that is, only if there are passengers or freight to be picked up or dropped off. In this way, stops with low passenger counts can be incorporated into a route without introducing unnecessary delay. Henley-in-Arden is a Train station, railway station serving the town of Henley-in-Arden, Warwickshire, England. It is on the North Warwickshire Line between Birmingham and Stratford-upon-Avon. History First station and branch line The first railway station at Henley was opened to passengers on 6 June 1894 (and to goods on 2 July 1894) at the end of a short branch line, in length, running from Rowington Junction, near (then known as Kingswood) on the Great Western Railway (GWR) main line from London to Birmingham. Construction of the branch line began in 1860, but was not finished because of a lack of funding. Wood End Railway Station
Wood End is a railway station on the North Warwickshire Line serving the village of Wood End in Warwickshire, England. Situated on the Stratford-upon-Avon to Birmingham route, the station was opened by the Great Western Railway in 1908 along with the line, and was originally known as ''Wood End Platform'', the suffix was later dropped. The station is located in a deep cutting. Immediately to the south of the station is Wood End tunnel, which is long. Great Western Railway
The Great Western Railway (GWR) was a British railway company that linked London with the southwest, west and West Midlands of England and most of Wales. North Warwickshire Line
The North Warwickshire Line (also known as the Shakespeare Line) is a suburban railway line in the West Midlands region of the United Kingdom. It runs from Birmingham to Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire, now the southern terminus of the line, although until 1976 the line continued to Cheltenham as part of the Great Western Railway route from Birmingham to Bristol.
