Emmerich Danzer
Emmerich Danzer (born 15 March 1944) is an Austrian former figure skater. He is a three-time (1966–68) World champion, a four-time (1965–68) European champion, and a four-time (1965–68) Austrian national champion. Personal life Emmerich Danzer was born on 15 March 1944 in Vienna, Austria. He attended a Catholic school in Vienna. Career Competitive Emmerich Danzer began to skate at the age of five. Herta Wächter became his coach in 1953. His skating club was WEV in Vienna. Danzer stood on his first ISU Championship podium at the 1963 Europeans in Budapest. He finished fourth the following year, in Grenoble, before winning gold ahead of France's Alain Calmat at the 1965 Europeans in Moscow. He placed fifth at the 1965 World Championships in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Frieda Dänzer
Frieda Dänzer (16 November 1930 – 21 January 2015) was a Swiss Alpine skier, successful in the second half of the 1950s. At the 1956 Winter Olympics, she won silver in the downhill event. At Bad Gastein in 1958, she became world champion in Alpine Combined and won the silver medal in downhill and bronze in giant slalom. She was born in Adelboden, Canton of Bern. Dänzer developed into one of Switzerland's most successful female skiers in the 1950s. The start of her sporting career, however, was fraught with a number of hurdles. In January 1950, she suffered a compound fracture of her right tibia and fibula in a fall that put her out of action for six months. After her recovery, Dänzer did manage to rejoin the Swiss national team. Georg Danzer
Georg Franz Danzer (7 October 1946, in Vienna – 21 June 2007, in Asperhofen, Lower Austria) was an Austrian singer-songwriter. Although he is credited as one of the pioneers of Austropop (most famous are his comic songs "Jö schau" (about a streaking, streaker at the Café Hawelka) and "Hupf' in Gatsch", both in Viennese German), he always refused to be part of this genre. Danzer was successful as a solo artist, but also in the group Austria3, along with Wolfgang Ambros and Rainhard Fendrich. Besides his music, he translated two books from Spanish into German, and was strongly involved in highlighting social inequalities, opposing racism and any form of societal discrimination, and the lifestyle of the bourgeoisie for all his life. Danzer was romantic, funny, socially engaged – and often a misfit. Ludwig Danzer
Ludwig Danzer (15 November 1927 – 3 December 2011) was a German geometer working in discrete geometry. He was a student of Hanfried Lenz, starting his career in 1960 with a thesis about "Lagerungsprobleme". Danzer's name is popularized in the concepts of a Danzer set, a set of points that touches all large convex sets, and the Danzer cube, an example of a non-shellable triangulation of the cube. It is an example of a power complex, studied by Danzer in the 1980s. The Danzer cube is example 8.9 in the book "Lectures on Polytopes" by G.M. Ziegler. Danzer also found many new tilings. Ludwig Danzer worked at the Technical University of Dortmund and died on December 3, 2011 after a long illness.
