Phillip Bruce Danyew (born October 31, 1986) is an American singer, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer. He released two extended plays in 2009, Danyew (EP), ''Danyew'' and ''Wake Up'' with EMI/Sparrow Records. He is a former touring member of Foster the People. Early life Danyew was born as Phillip Bruce Danyew Work ID No. 505926814 ISWC No. T9019921596 on October 31, 1986 in Orange County, California. His father, Gregory Bruce Danyew, is a painter and musician, and mother, Julie I. Danyew (''née'' Barnes) is also a musician. He has a twin sister, Rachael Marie Danyew. Danyew started his songwriting career while he was in the seventh grade. ''Danyew'' is the second extended play (EP) from Danyew. Sparrow Records released the EP on April 21, 2009. Danyew worked with Pete Kipley, in the production of this album. Critical reception Awarding the EP three and a half stars for AllMusic, Jared Johnson writes, "There are no gimmicks on this record, only the solid craftsmanship of a talented artist." Mike Rimmer, rating the album a nine out of ten at Cross Rhythms, says, "The [multi]-instrumentalist and singer seems content to use the studio as a laboratory to distil his music into something that is lyrically, musically and emotionally powerful." Foster The People
Foster the People is an American indie pop band formed in Los Angeles, California, in 2009. Its members are singer Mark Foster, guitarist Sean Cimino, and keyboardist Isom Innis. Foster founded the band in 2009 after spending several years in Los Angeles as a struggling musician and working as a commercial jingle writer. After Foster's song "Pumped Up Kicks" became a viral success in 2010, the group received a record deal from Startime International and gained a fanbase through small club shows and appearances at music festivals. After releasing their debut album ''Torches'' in May 2011, "Pumped Up Kicks" became a crossover hit on commercial radio in mid-2011 and eventually reached number three on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100. Mark Andrew Pontius is an American musician who is best known as a founding member and drummer of the American alt pop band Foster the People; he left the band in 2021. Prior to joining Foster the People in 2009, Pontius was part of Los Angeles indie pop band Malbec. Early life Pontius was born on January 3, 1985, in Florida to Harriet and Lawrence Lee "Larry" Pontius. Growing up, Pontius drummed in garage bands and community groups.
