Danu Self-Administered Zone
The Danu Self-Administered Zone ( my, ဓနု ကိုယ်ပိုင်အုပ်ချုပ်ခွင့်ရ ဒေသ ), as stipulated by the 2008 Constitution of Myanmar, is a self-administered zone consisting of two townships in Shan State. The zone is self-administered by the Danu people. Its official name was announced by decree on 20 August 2010. Government and politics The Danu Self-Administered Zone is administered by a Leading Body, which consists of at least ten members and includes Shan State Hluttaw (Assembly) members elected from the Zone and members nominated by the Burmese Armed Forces. The Leading Body performs both executive and legislative functions and is led by a Chairperson, currently Arkar Lin. The Leading Body has competence in ten areas of policy, including urban and rural development, road construction and maintenance, and public health. Taunggyi District ( my, တောင်ကြီးခရိုင်) is a district of Shan State in Burma. The principal town and administrative center is Taunggyi. This district has 12 towns and 3001 villages. Shan State Hluttaw
Shan State Hluttaw ( my, ရှမ်းပြည်နယ်လွှတ်တော်, shn, လုမ်းတႅၼ်းၽွင်းၸိုင်ႈတႆး) is the legislature of Shan State in Burma, established on February 8, 2016. It is a unicameral body, consisting of 137 members—103 elected members and 34 military representatives. As of February 2016, Sai Long Hseng of the Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) leads the Hluttaw. ''Weekly Eleven'' is a weekly newspaper published in Myanmar (Burma). It is one of the five weekly journals published by Eleven Media Group which was founded in June 2000. It is focused on general local news and some sports and international news. It won the "Media of the Year" award in 2011 from Reporters Without Borders, for standing up to the junta and "using extraordinary ingenuity to slip through the censorship net and inform the public". The Danu people ( my, ဓနု) are a government-recognized ethnic group in Myanmar, predominantly populating the areas near the Pindaya Caves in Shan State. The Constitution of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar (2008) is the third Constitution of Myanmar after 1947 and 1974 constitutions which lost force after military coups. It is part of the seven steps road map announced by then Prime Minister of State Peace and Development Council government General Khin Nyunt on 30 August 2003. One of the seven steps include recalling the National Convention for the drafting of new constitution. The National Conventions was adjourned on 31 March 1996 by State Law and Order Restoration Council government. The convention began on 17 May 2004 and was attended by 1076 of invited delegates and representatives from 25 ethnic ceasefire groups.
