Danté Bartolomeo
Danté Jean Craig Bartolomeo (born 1969) is an American politician. Bartolomeo, a Democrat, began her political career as a member of the Meriden City Council from 2008 to 2012. She then held the Connecticut Senate seat for the 13th district from 2013 to 2017. In January 2019, she was appointed deputy commissioner of the Connecticut Department of Labor. Bartolomeo's promotion to commissioner took effect in July 2021, and she was formally confirmed to the position in February 2022. Early life and education Bartolomeo's father Craig Self was a Republican who served as town chairman of Wallingford, Connecticut. Bartolomeo attributed her political positioning as a fiscal moderate to his influence, and her mother, Barbara Calza Self, for her views on social liberalism. Len Suzio
Leonard F. Suzio Jr. (born January 4, 1948) is an American politician from Connecticut. Personal life Suzio attended the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Shortly after graduation, he married Kathryn. Suzio was active in the Connecticut Victim Advocate Advisory Committee, founded the consultancy firm GeoDataVision, and served on the Meriden Board of Education from 1995 to 2009. Political career Suzio contested his first state legislative election in 2010, losing to incumbent state senator Thomas Gaffey. Gaffey resigned after he was charged with larceny. Suzio contested the subsequent special election, defeating Thomas Bruenn, and took office on February 28, 2011. He became the first Republican elected from the 13th Connecticut State Senate district since 1972. Suzio ran in the 2012 full-term elections, and was unseated by Danté Bartolomeo. Ned Lamont
Edward Miner Lamont Jr. (born January 3, 1954) is an American businessman and politician serving as the 89th governor of Connecticut. He has served in this position since January 9, 2019. A member of the Democratic Party, he served as a Greenwich selectman from 1987 to 1989. He ran for the United States Senate in 2006, defeating incumbent Joe Lieberman in the Democratic primary, but losing to him in the general election, when Lieberman ran as an independent candidate. Lamont ran for governor in 2010, but lost the Democratic primary to former Stamford mayor Dannel Malloy, who went on to win the general election. He ran again in 2018, winning the nomination and defeating Republican Bob Stefanowski in the general election.
