Dante Acosta
Dante Acosta (January 1, 1963) is an American politician who currently serves on the Santa Clarita Valley Water Agency board of directors. He previously served in the California State Assembly. A Republican, he represented the 38th Assembly District, encompassing Simi Valley, far northern San Fernando Valley, and most of the Santa Clarita Valley. Prior to being elected to the State Assembly, he was a member of the Santa Clarita City Council. Acosta was first elected to the State Assembly in November 2016. Santa Clarita Valley
The Santa Clarita Valley (SCV) is part of the upper watershed of the Santa Clara River in Southern California. The valley was part of the Rancho San Francisco Mexican land grant. Located in Los Angeles County, its main population center is the city of Santa Clarita which includes the communities of Canyon Country, Newhall, Saugus, and Valencia. Adjacent unincorporated communities include Castaic, Stevenson Ranch, Val Verde, and the unincorporated parts of Valencia. Etymology The Santa Clara River was named by Spanish explorers for Clare of Assisi. Scott Thomas Wilk Sr. (born March 16, 1959) is an American politician who has served as the California State Senate minority leader since January 20, 2021.
