"Dans la ville endormie" ("In the sleeping city") is a French language song recorded by singer Dalida, first released on EP during summer of 1968. It is the product of Dalida's collaboration with composer William Sheller with whom she worked on ''Le temps des fleurs'', her album released later that year. English language cover "My year is a day" by Les Irrésistibles achieved success several months later. The song appears in '' No Time to Die'', the 25th installment of the James Bond film series during the films pre-title sequence. Iolanda Cristina Gigliotti (; 17 January 1933 – 3 May 1987), professionally known as Dalida, was an Italian-French singer and actress born in Egypt. She sang in eleven languages and sold millions of records internationally. Her best known songs are " Bambino", " Les enfants du Pirée", " Le temps des fleurs", " Darla dirladada", " J'attendrai", and " Paroles, paroles" featuring spoken word by Alain Delon. Barclay is a French record company and record label, label founded by Eddie Barclay in 1953. Eddie Barclay was a bandleader, pianist, producer, and nightclub owner. William Sheller
William Sheller (born William Desboeuf on 9 July 1946) is a French classical composer and singer-songwriter. A prominent artist of French popular music since the 1970s, William Sheller has the particularity of being one of the few singers of French chanson who has benefited from a solid background in classical music. This has influenced his repertoire with a sophisticated musical style, combining elements of classical music with chanson and symphonic rock. Biography Born in Paris to an American soldier and a French mother, William Desboeuf was raised in Ohio until he was 7. "Le temps des fleurs" ("The time of the flowers") is a song by French singer Dalida for her twenty-first studio album of the same name. While the French lyrics were written by Eddy Marnay, the melody was taken from Russian romance song "Dorogoi dlinnoyu" ("Дорогой длинною"), composed by Boris Fomin in 1924. Dalida covered the song after Mary Hopkin had a hit with her English version "Those Were the Days" one month earlier. Le temps des fleurs is Dalida's first recording to debut atop of French song chart, while it peaked the newly established "Centre d'Information et de Documentation du Disque" sales chart two weeks after entry. Les Irrésistibles
Les Irrésistibles (The Irresistibles) were a boy band during the late 1960s and early 1970s, whose members were Americans living in France. The lineup consisted of lead singer Jim McMains on keyboards and rhythm guitar, his identical twin brother Steve McMains on bass, Tom Arena on lead guitar, and Andy Cornelius on drums. They returned to the US in the early 70's. Origins The band formed in 1968 as The Sentrys, when the members were teenage classmates at the American School of Paris.
