Daniel "Danny" Williams (born 20 April 1989, in Shrewsbury) is a British judoka. Judo career Williams became champion of Great Britain, winning the lightweight division at the British Judo Championships in 2011. The following year he competed in the men's 73 kg event at the 2012 Summer Olympics and was eliminated by Rasul Boqiev in the second round. British Judo Championships
The British Judo Championships are held annually and feature various age and weight categories to determine the British champion. The Championships are currently held at the English Institute of Sport, Sheffield. Until 2013, the Championships were held under the title of either the British Closed Championships or the British Senior Trials. In 2013, the British Closed Championships/Senior Trials were merged with the all-age British Championships. The 2020 Championship was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Rasul Boqiev (also spelled as Rasul Bokiev ( tg, Расул Боқиев); born 29 September 1982) is a Tajikistani judoka who competes in the -73 kg (lightweight) category. He has won bronze medal at the Judo World Championships and a bronze medal, Tajikistan's first ever Olympic medal, at the 2008 Summer Olympics. Career He is considered one of the top athletes in Tajikistan and the world in the judo under 73 kg weight-class.
