Danny Philliskirk
Daniel Philliskirk (born 10 April 1991) is an English professional footballer who plays as a forward for club AFC Fylde. Born in Oldham, Greater Manchester, he began his career as a junior with Oldham Athletic before moving to Chelsea. Having failed to break into the Chelsea side he spent time on loan at Oxford United before signing for Sheffield United. Having been on the fringes of first team football he was eventually released to allow him to join Coventry City on a short-term contract, before his return to Oldham. In January 2016, he signed for Blackpool on a -year deal with the club having an option to extend a further year. Philliskirk is the son of former Sheffield United and Bolton Wanderers forward Tony Philliskirk who is the head of youth development at Oldham Athletic. Oldham
Oldham is a large town in Greater Manchester, England, amid the Pennines and between the rivers Irk and Medlock, southeast of Rochdale and northeast of Manchester. It is the administrative centre of the Metropolitan Borough of Oldham, which had a population of 237,110 in 2019. The Football League
The English Football League (EFL) is a league of professional football clubs from England and Wales. Founded in 1888 as the Football League, the league is the oldest such competition in the world. Oldham Athletic
Oldham Athletic Association Football Club is a professional football club in Oldham, Greater Manchester, England, which competes in the National League, the fifth tier of the English football league system. The history of Oldham Athletic began with the founding of Pine Villa F.C. in 1895, a team that played in the Manchester and Lancashire leagues. When neighbours Oldham County folded in 1899, Pine Villa moved into their stadium and changed their name to Oldham Athletic. They won the Lancashire Combination title in 1906–07 and were elected into the Football League. In sport, a cap is a player's appearance in a game at international level. The term dates from the practice in the United Kingdom of awarding a cap to every player in an international match of rugby football and association football. In the early days of football, the concept of each team wearing a set of matching shirts had not been universally adopted, so each side would distinguish itself from the other by wearing a specific sort of cap. An early illustration of the first international football match between Scotland and England in 1872 shows the Scottish players wearing cowls, and the English wearing a variety of school caps. Scunthorpe United Football Club is a professional association football club based in the town of Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire, England. The English Football League Championship (often referred to as the Championship for short or the Sky Bet Championship for sponsorship purposes) is the highest division of the English Football League (EFL) and second-highest overall in the English football league system, after the Premier League.
