Daniel Morgan
Daniel Morgan (1735–1736July 6, 1802) was an American pioneer, soldier, and politician from Virginia. One of the most respected battlefield tacticians of the American Revolutionary War of 1775–1783, he later commanded troops during the suppression of the Whiskey Rebellion of 1791–1794. Born in New Jersey to a Welsh family, Morgan settled in Winchester, Virginia. He became an officer of the Virginia militia and recruited a company of riflemen at the start of the Revolutionary War. Early in the war, Morgan served in Benedict Arnold's expedition to Quebec and in the Saratoga campaign. He also served in the Philadelphia campaign before resigning from the army in 1779. Morgan returned to the army after the Battle of Camden, and led the Continental Army to victory in the Battle of Cowpens. Danny Morgan (born May 29, 1961) is an American former professional boxer who competed from 1986 to 1993. He twice challenged for the WBA super middleweight title between 1990 and 1993. Professional career Morgan made his professional debut against Charles Minty on May 1, 1986, winning by unanimous decision in a six-round bout. Morgan fought an opponent with a winning record for the first time in his fourth professional bout, defeating 14-3-1 Scott Papasadora on points in September 1987. Thereafter Morgan became a frequent sight in US boxing rings, fighting 21 times in 1988, including four times in the month of April alone. During this time Morgan's most notable wins were over 21-1-4 Quinton Fox, 20-10-3 Mike Pollitt, and 29-7-2 Wilbert Johnson. Danny Morgan (Australian Footballer)
Danny Morgan (born 20 August 1974) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Essendon in the Australian Football League (AFL). Morgan came to Carlton in the 1990 National Draft but would only play for them at reserves level. While playing with the Preston Knights, he was picked up by Essendon with the 23rd selection of the 1993 Mid-Season Draft. An on-baller, he won the Essendon reserves best and fairest award in 1994, an award he would also win in 1996. In just his second senior game, against Adelaide in the 1995 AFL season, Morgan had 24 disposals and earned two Brownlow Medal votes. In 1998 he moved to Port Adelaide in the SANFL and played in both their 1998 and 1999 Premiership team.
