Danny Hrapmann
Daniel Hrapmann (born April 21, 1989) is a former American football placekicker. He played for Southern Miss from 2010 to 2012. He went on to played pre-season with the Miami Dolphins, two pre-seasons with the Arizona Cardinals and two with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Hrapmann is a native of New Orleans, LA, where he attended and graduated from the Holy Cross school for boys, eventually transferring to Southern Miss from the Southeastern Louisiana University in 2008. During college, Daniel was awarded the Walter Camp all American award, the All Conference award as-well as a Lou Graza Award Finalist, in the year 2010. Placekicker, or simply kicker (PK or K), is the player in gridiron football who is responsible for the kicking duties of field goals and extra points. In many cases, the placekicker also serves as the team's kickoff specialist or punter. Specialized role The kicker initially was not a specialized role. Prior to the 1934 standardization of the prolate spheroid shape of the ball, drop kicking was the prevalent method of kicking field goals and conversions, but even after its replacement by place kicking, until the 1960s the kicker almost always doubled at another position on the roster. George Blanda, Lou Groza, Frank Gifford and Paul Hornung are prominent examples of players who were stars at other positions as well as being known for their kicking abilities. John Potter (American Football)
John Potter (born January 24, 1990) is a former American football placekicker. The Buffalo Bills selected him in the seventh round, 251st overall, of the 2012 NFL Draft. He played college football at Western Michigan University. College Potter left Western Michigan as the all-time leader in career points (333), consecutive point after touchdowns (PATs) made in a season (57) and consecutive PATs made in a career (129). His 129 consecutive PATs is also a Mid-American Conference (MAC) record. Potter recorded 36 touchbacks his senior season which ranked third in the nation. Potter also holds the school record for tackles by a kicker (36). In addition, he scored a rushing touchdown on a fake field goal, ran in a two-point conversion and recovered two fumbles on kickoff coverage. A field goal (FG) is a means of scoring in gridiron football. To score a field goal, the team in possession of the ball must place kick, or drop kick, the ball through the goal, i.e., between the uprights and over the crossbar.
