Danny Wayne Darwin (born October 25, 1955), known as the "Bonham Bullet" and "Dr. Death", is an American professional baseball pitcher and coach, who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Texas Rangers, Milwaukee Brewers, Houston Astros, Boston Red Sox, Toronto Blue Jays, Pittsburgh Pirates, Chicago White Sox, and San Francisco Giants, from through . Over his MLB career, he amassed 171 wins and 182 losses, with a 3.84 earned run average (ERA). Early life Darwin attended Bonham High School and Grayson County College. He signed as an undrafted free agent with the Texas Rangers on May 10, 1976. He began his professional career with the Asheville Tourists in Single-A in 1976. The Great Lakes Loons are a Minor League Baseball team of the Midwest League and the High-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers. They are located in Midland, Michigan, and play their home games at Dow Diamond, which opened in April 2007. Donald Glenn August (born July 3, 1963) is an American former Major League Baseball pitcher who played for the Milwaukee Brewers from to . He lived in Mission Viejo, California and graduated from Capistrano Valley High School. Minor pro career August attended Chapman University, where he was a Division II All-American. After competing for the United States at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, he was drafted 17th overall by the Houston Astros. Mark Richard Knudson (born October 28, 1960) is an American former right-handed professional baseball pitcher. He played all or part of eight seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB), between 1985 and 1993, primarily for the Milwaukee Brewers. Professional career Houston Astros Knudson was drafted by the Houston Astros in the third round of the 1982 amateur draft out of Colorado State University. He made his debut with the club on July 8, 1985, and took a 7–4 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies. He won his first major league game on July 10 of the following season, also against the Phillies. The Tucson Toros were a professional baseball team based in Tucson, Arizona, in the United States. Asheville Tourists
The Asheville Tourists are a Minor League Baseball team of the South Atlantic League and the High-A affiliate of the Houston Astros. They are located in Asheville, North Carolina. Asheville teams have played under the Tourists moniker in different leagues and classifications for over a century, with the earliest dating to 1897. The current team has played continuously in what is now known as the South Atlantic League since 1976, though it was briefly known as the High-A East in 2021.
