Danish Women's Handball Cup
The Danish Women's Handball Cup ( da, DHF's Landspokalturnering), known as the Santander Cup for sponsorship reasons, is the main domestic cup tournament for Danish women's handball clubs, which is partially organised and supervised by the Danish Handball Federation. The competition has been played annually since 1964. Tournament structure The initial 6 rounds are managed by the three regional federations with the DHF taking over the tournament at the round of 16. It ultimately results in a final four event scheduled between Christmas and New Year. The winner of the tournament qualify for the annual Super Cup held during the summer where they meet the season's league winner. If the same team wins both the league and the cup, the losing cup finalist will participate as the second team in the Super Cup. Women's EHF European League
The Women's EHF European League is an annual competition for women's handball clubs of Europe. It is organized by the EHF. It is currently the second-tier competition of European club handball, ranking only below the EHF Champions League. Previously called the Women's EHF Cup, the competition will be known as the Women's EHF European League from the 2020–21 season. History The first edition took place in 1981. It was called the IHF Cup until 1993. From the 2016–17 season, the competition merged with the EHF Cup Winners' Cup. Ceres Arena
Ceres Arena (formerly NRGi Arena) is an indoor arena mainly used for handball matches and public events in Aarhus, Denmark. The arena was opened in 2001 and has a capacity of 5,001 spectators (4,394 seats). It is part of the Aarhus Sports Park, which also includes Aarhus Stadium. Ceres Arena is home to Danish Women's Handball League team Aarhus United and Danish Men's Handball League team Skanderborg Aarhus Håndbold. The arena functioned as the main venue in the 2002 European Women's Championships, hosting the final. Tranbjerg J is a town in Aarhus in Denmark. "J" is for Jutland to distinguish this place from a similarly named place on Zealand, and is not used in daily parlance. History Tranbjerg was formerly a small rural village but is now a suburb of Aarhus about 10 kilometers south of the city center. Tranbjerg Church is a typical old Danish village church, built in the later part of the 1100s, but with several later adjustments and additions. It is dedicated to Saint Ursula and the eleven thousand handmaidens. In 1737, King Christian VI gave charter to the Tranbjerg parish for the public school of Tranbjerg Skole.
