Danish Music Awards 2009
The Danish Music Awards (DMA) is a Danish award show. The show has been arranged by IFPI since 1989, and was originally called ''IFPI-prisen'' ("IFPI-Award") until 1991, when it changed its name to ''Dansk Grammy'' ("Danish Grammy"). It was changed to its current name, Danish Music Awards in 2001, after the American Grammy Awards registered the name "Grammy" as their trademark. In 2011, IFPI joined together with TV2 and KODA to present the awards ceremony. IFPI Awards 1989 The 1989 Danish IFPI Awards were held on 25 February 1989 in K.B. Hallen, Frederiksberg. IFPI
The International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) is the organisation that represents the interests of the recording industry worldwide. It is a non-profit members' organisation registered in Switzerland and founded in Italy in 1933 by Francesco Braga. It operates a secretariat based in London, with regional offices in Brussels, Hong Kong, Miami, Abu Dhabi, Singapore and Nairobi. Function IFPI's mission is to promote the value of recorded music, campaign for record producer rights, and expand the commercial uses of recorded music. ''Bamse – Världens starkaste björn'' () is a Swedish cartoon created by Rune Andréasson. The highly popular children's cartoon first emerged as a series of television short films as well as a weekly half-page Sunday strip in 1966, before being published periodically in its own comic magazine since 1973. Andréasson did all the artwork himself until 1975 and wrote all the comics until 1990. Francisco Tora did all the illustrations from 1976 until he was joined by Bo Michanek in 1983. Several new writers and illustrators were hired in the early 1990s, including Claes Reimerthi, Olof Siverbo, Johan Wanloo and Tony Cronstam. Andréasson continued to do the magazine cover illustrations until 1992. The series somewhat changed direction when Bamse had children, specifically triplets, in 1982. De Nattergale
De Nattergale is a Denmark, Danish comedy band/act. They have made several CDs and three TV advent calendars on TV2 (Denmark), TV2, of which the most famous is ''The Julekalender''. The group consists of Viggo Sommer, Carsten Knudsen and Uffe Rørbæk Madsen. 'Nattergale' is a pun - 'Nattergale' could mean both 'nightingale', as the group sing, but also 'Nattergale', which means "night-crazy" - 'lunatics'. The group as it is now was formed in 1983, although Viggo and Carsten met each other as early as in 1979. The group released their first album in 1988 called ''Hva har vi da gjort ... siden vi ska' ha'et så godt''. In 1989 they released their first hit record entitled ''Nu ka' det vist ik bli' meget bedre'' which includes their two hit singles: "Uha-da-da" and "Gule ærter". Love Shop
Love Shop is a Danish pop rock band. The band was formed in 1986 by vocalist/songwriter Jens Unmack and guitarist/producer Hilmer Hassig, later joined by harmonicist Henrik Hall. They found great success in Denmark with their debut album ''1990'', which went on to win the Danish Grammy for Pop Album of the Year, and are well known for songs such as "En nat bliver det sommer", "Love Goes On Forever" and "Copenhagen Dreaming". The 1997 album ''Go!'' is widely considered their ''magnum opus''. In 2004, the band announced an indefinite hiatus after struggling with internal disputes. Hilmer Hassig was killed in a traffic accident in 2008, and after performing two tribute concerts in his honour, the remaining band members reunited, releasing the critically acclaimed comeback album ''Frelsens hær'' in 2010. Wilson Phillips is an American pop group formed in Los Angeles in 1989. The group consists of Carnie Wilson and Wendy Wilson, the daughters of Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys, and Chynna Phillips, the daughter of John and Michelle Phillips of the Mamas & the Papas. Björn Svante Afzelius (27 January 1947 – 16 February 1999 ) was a Swedish singer-songwriter and guitar player. He was an outspoken socialist, known for his support for Olof Palme. His songs are about love, politics and joys and sadness in life. Career Björn Svante Afzelius was born on 27 January 1947 in Huskvarna, Jönköping County. His father Svante Arnold Afzelius (1923–1976) was an engineer and his mother Ulla Afzelius (1926–1971) was a housewife. His only sibling is his brother Bengt (b. 1952) who is a music teacher. He came into contact with music from a very young age, because his mother and her side of the family were largely into music. In 1970, Afzelius formed the progg group Hoola Bandoola Band together with Mikael Wiehe. Gary Moore
Robert William Gary Moore (4 April 19526 February 2011) was a Northern Irish musician. Over the course of his career he played in various groups and performed a range of music including blues, blues rock, hard rock, heavy metal, and jazz fusion. Influenced by Peter Green and Eric Clapton, Moore began his career in the late 1960s when he joined Skid Row, with whom he released two albums. After Moore left the group he joined Thin Lizzy, featuring his former Skid Row bandmate and frequent collaborator Phil Lynott. Moore began his solo career in the 1970s and achieved major success with 1978's "Parisienne Walkways", which is considered his signature song.
