Danish Cricket Federation
The Danish Cricket Federation (Danish: ''Dansk Cricket Forbund''; DCF) is the official governing body of the sport of cricket in the Kingdom of Denmark. Its current headquarters is in Brøndby, Copenhagen. History The DCF was founded in 1953, at a meeting of 31 clubs in Odense. Cricket in Denmark had previously been organised by the Danish Football Association, a consequence of both sports being introduced by British expatriates. Cricket
Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). Means of dismissal include being bowled, when the ball hits the stumps and dislodges the bails, and by the fielding side either catching the ball after it is hit by the bat, but before it hits the ground, or hitting a wicket with the ball before a batter can cross the crease in front of the wicket. Danish Football Association
The Danish Football Union ( da, Dansk Boldspil-Union; DBU) is the governing body of football in Denmark. It is the organization of the Danish football clubs and runs the professional Danish football leagues and the men's and women's national teams. It is based in the city of Brøndby and is a founding member of both FIFA and UEFA. The DBU has also been the governing body of futsal in Denmark since 2008. Beginnings The DBU was founded on 18 May 1889 and was the first national football association outside Great Britain and Ireland. Denmark National Under-19 Cricket Team
The Denmark Under-19 cricket team represents the country of Denmark in U-19 international cricket. Denmark played their first Under-19 fixture against the Netherlands Under-19 in Toronto in 1979. The team played 6 youth One Day International's during the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup. The Denmark women's national cricket team represents the Kingdom of Denmark in international women's cricket. The European Cricket Council (ECC) is an international body which oversaw cricket in European countries other than the Test-playing cricketing nation of England, the only European Full Member of the ICC for the duration of the ECC's existence.
