Daniel Écija
Daniel Arturo Écija Bernal (born 17 June 1963) is a media producer and screenwriter. Starting with ''Médico de familia'', he is credited as creator and executive producer of a long list of Spanish television series. He served as chairman of Globomedia, of which he was a founding partner. Biography Born in 1963 in Wittenoon, Western Australia, son to a Spanish miner who immigrated to Australia, and who, having returned to Spain to work as driver, died from asbestos contamination acquired in the Australian mines. Écija started his career as television operator, later working as film editor, production assistant, director, writer and producer. He founded Globomedia together with Emilio Aragón and José María Irisarri in 1993. Their first fiction production was the widely successful sitcom ''Médico de familia'', released in 1995 and in which Écija had his debut as director, whereas Aragón starred in as lead character in the series. Wittenoom, Western Australia
Wittenoom is a declared contaminated site and former townsite north-north-east of Perth, in the Hamersley Range in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. The declared contaminated site comprises , making it the "largest contaminated site in the southern hemisphere". The area around Wittenoom was mainly pastoral until the 1930s when mining for blue asbestos began in the area. By 1939, major mining began in Yampire Gorge, which was subsequently closed in 1943 when mining began in Wittenoom Gorge. In 1947 a company town was built, and during the 1950s it was the Pilbara's largest town. The peak population, as recorded by the Australian census conducted on 30 June 1961, was 881 (601 males and 280 females). During the 1950s and early 1960s Wittenoom was Australia's only supplier of blue asbestos. ''Águila Roja'' ( en, Red Eagle) is a Spanish adventure television series set in Spain during the 17th century. It was produced by Globomedia for Televisión Española and was broadcast on La 1 of Televisión Española from 2009 to 2016. It is one of the channel's most successful shows, and its rights have been sold to several countries. The aim of the show was to capitalize on the success of Televisión Española's period dramas such as ''Cuéntame cómo pasó'', ''La Señora'' or ''Amar en tiempos revueltos'', but at the same time aiming for mature audiences with a masked hero in the style of Zorro or Green Arrow as the main character. ''Fotogramas'' is Spanish digital and print film magazine which has been in circulation since 1946. It is one of the early film magazines in Spain. History Founded in Barcelona, it was first published on 15 November 1946 by Antonio Nadal-Rodó and María Fernanda Gañán. On 5 February 1951, the magazine awarded their first Placa de San Juan Bosco award to actor Jesús Tordesillas for his performance in 1950 film ''Pequeñeces''. In the 1970s the magazine was part of the Nadal Group. New categories were added over time to the award which were renamed Fotogramas de Plata and in 2012 they absorbed the TP de Oro awards.
