Daniel Torres (Costa Rican Footballer)
Daniel Torres González (born October 14, 1977) is a retired Costa Rican footballer. Career Club Torres started his football career with Deportivo Saprissa, making his Primera División debut on 16 February 1996 against Ramonense. With Saprissa, he won several national and international titles between 1996 and 2001. He signed with the Columbus Crew of Major League Soccer on September 8, 2001. In 2002, Torres appeared in 28 matches for the Crew, starting in 25 of them. He appeared in only eight games in 2003 before being transferred to his former team, Deportivo Saprissa, where he spent 2004 helping the club capture its 24th Costa Rican First Division Title. In 2005, Torres signed with Tromsø IL of the Norwegian Premier League. He spent part of the season at the club before being transferred to Bodens BK in the Swedish Superettan. Moravia Canton
Moravia is the fourteenth canton in the San José province of Costa Rica. The head city of the canton is San Vicente. Toponymy It is named in honour of President Juan Rafael Mora Porras (1814 – 1860). Since there was already a canton called Mora, this one was named Moravia. History Moravia was created on 1 August 1914 by decree 55. Law No. 55 established Villa San Vicente on 1 August 1914. The first session of the Council of Moravia was held on 19 January 1915, and the first electric street lighting was installed in the same year. Norwegian First Division
The Norwegian First Division, also called 1. divisjon and OBOS-ligaen (named sponsor is property developer OBOS), is the second-highest level of the Norwegian football league system. Each year, the top finishing teams in the 1. divisjon are promoted to the Eliteserien, and the lowest finishing teams are relegated to 2. divisjon. 1. divisjon was previously known as 2. divisjon (1963–1990) and replaced regional league Landsdelsserien (1951–1962) after the latter was dissolved after the 1961–62 season. 2009 UNCAF Nations Cup
The UNCAF Nations Cup 2009 was the tenth edition of the UNCAF Nations Cup, the biennial association football, football (soccer) tournament for the CONCACAF-affiliated national teams of Central America. The first five places qualified for the 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup. The event was going to take place in Panama City, Panama between January 22 and February 1, 2009, but the FEPAFUT, Panamanian FA announced that they would not host the event due to not having an adequate stadium available for the time period of the tournament. The alternative hosts were Honduras and Guatemala. Honduras submitted an official replacement bid on November 12, and after some consideration it was moved to Honduras. All games were played in Estadio Nacional Chelato Uclés, Estadio Tiburcio Carías Andino in Tegucigalpa. The tournament was sponsored by Digicel. Guatemala National Football Team
The Guatemala national football team ( es, Selección de fútbol de Guatemala) represents Guatemala in men's international football and is controlled by the ''Federación Nacional de Fútbol de Guatemala''. Founded in 1919, it has been affiliated to FIFA since 1946, and it is a member of CONCACAF. The team has made three Olympic tournament appearances, competing at the 1968, 1976, and 1988 Olympic Games. Guatemala have never qualified for the finals tournament of the World Cup, although they have reached the final round of qualification on four occasions. Guatemala won the 1967 CONCACAF Championship and the 2001 UNCAF Nations Cup. The team's best performance in a CONCACAF Gold Cup was in 1996, when they finished fourth.
