Daniel Rothbart
Daniel Kenneth Rothbart (Stanford, CA, January 29, 1966), is an artist and writer. Early life Rothbart was born in Stanford, California and raised in Eugene, Oregon. He is the son of psychologists Myron Rothbart and Mary K. Rothbart. He studied sculpture at the Rhode Island School of Design and Columbia University. Art and writing Daniel Rothbart is an artist and writer whose work explores the relationship between nature, urban postmodern identity and metaphysics. In the words of critic John Ash (writer), John Ash, "What he presents is the visual aspect of an imaginary 'ritual without theology' (to use his own phrase)." Art theorist and curator Enrico Pedrini wrote, "His world of myth prompts one to reconsider the sacred as a point of interaction where icons and symbols converge and undergo changes of meaning." Stanford is a census-designated place (CDP) in the northwest corner of Santa Clara County, California, United States. It is the home of Stanford University. The population was 21,150 at the 2020 census. Stanford is an unincorporated area of Santa Clara County and is adjacent to the city of Palo Alto. The place is named after Stanford University. Most of the Stanford University campus and other core University owned land is situated within the census-designated place of Stanford though the Stanford University Medical Center, the Stanford Shopping Center, and the Stanford Research Park are officially part of the city of Palo Alto.
