Daniel O'Mahony
Daniel O'Mahony (born 24 July 1973) is a half-British half-Irish author, born in Croydon. He is the oldest of five children, his siblings including Eoin O'Mahony of the band Hamfatter, and Madeleine O'Mahony, who has designed and made hats for Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. Biography O'Mahony's first professionally published work were original ''Doctor Who'' novels in the 1990s. A fan of the series, when he was still at school he had pitched ideas to the BBC for episodes and also wrote to Nigel Robinson — the then editor of Target Books novelizations — asking to write the novelization of some of the few outstanding television stories yet to be adapted. Following the announcement of Virgin's intention to start publishing the New Adventures, O'Mahony submitted a number of proposals for novels, the third of which ('' Falls the Shadow'') was accepted and published in November 1994. Croydon
Croydon is a large town in south London, England, south of Charing Cross. Part of the London Borough of Croydon, a local government district of Greater London. It is one of the largest commercial districts in Greater London, with an extensive shopping district and night-time economy. The Telos ''Doctor Who'' novellas were a series of tie-in novellas based on the long-running BBC science fiction television series ''Doctor Who'', officially licensed by the BBC and published by Telos Publishing. Each novella was published in two formats: standard hardback and deluxe hardback (which included a full colour artwork Frontispiece, and was signed and numbered. The cover material also differed from the standard edition). The BBC's license was specifically only to do hardback fiction (since its BBC Books imprint was concurrently publishing its own line of paperback ''Doctor Who'' novels), although following further negotiations two of the novellas were subsequently re-printed in paperback (''Ghost Ship'' and ''Foreign Devils''). Newtons Sleep
''Newtons Sleep'' is an original novel by Daniel O'Mahony set in the Faction Paradox universe. It is the only Faction Paradox novel to be published by Random Static. Although taking place in a shared universe, it is a stand-alone work that does not require any prior knowledge of Faction Paradox. The events of ''Newtons Sleep'' occur on Earth in the 17th century. One of the central characters of the book is the historical playwright and spy Aphra Behn. The lack of an apostrophe in the title is intentional, and alludes to both ''Finnegans Wake'' and the original punctuation of the William Blake quote from which it is drawn: Blake is objecting to the literalism of the Newtonian mindset. ''Kaldor City'' is a series of audio plays using elements from the British TV series '' Doctor Who'' and ''Blake's 7''. Lawrence Miles (born 15 March 1972 in Middlesex) is a science fiction author known for his work on original ''Doctor Who'' novels (for both the Virgin New Adventures and BBC Books series) and the subsequent spin-off Faction Paradox.
